Historic building but right up to date with modern facilities. As other reviews have said outstandingly friendly staff that really seemed to care that the guestes really enjoyed their stay. Food was of a high standard, menu seemed to be mainly local produce and was cooked to perfection. Nice atmosphere in the lounge and dinning room areas. If you are undecided about staying here, particularly if the choice is between a souless multinational chain or the Sherbrooke, chose the Sherbrooke and experince real hospitallity. Exceptionally clean and well decorated.

Stayed here for ten days while visiting Glasgow and using it as a base for day trips around Scotland by train. I had a single room which was cozy but had all of the amenities I needed to make it a really comfortable stay. Breakfast every morning was great to give my day a good start. The Subway stop is a few minutes walk and whisked me to the city centre or train station in 6 minutes. The area where the hotel is located is close to the University of Glasgow, Art Gallery and Museum and the large and beautiful Kelvingrove Park. Hosts, Marlene, Dianne and the rest of the staff made this hotel the perfect home away from home for me and contributed to one of the best trips I have ever had.
