Granada Vacations

Granada is part of Managua, the capital of Nicaragua. Around 950,000 live in this city. Granada is 20 miles (32 kilometers) from Augusto C. Sandino International Airport, and just 25 miles (40 kilometers) from the city.

Many of Managua’s most popular attractions can be found within easy reach of Granada, making it a convenient place to base yourself. Two sights that should be on every visitor’s itinerary is the wonderful Granada Cathedral and the iconic Parque Central. Two other interesting attractions that are nearby Granada are the Mombacho Volcano National Reserve and the Masaya Old Market.

If the sun is shining head outside and appreciate the nearby green spaces. Put on your hiking shoes and explore the well-used ecological parks for which this area is well known, like the Masaya Volcano National Park.

Those with a love of baseball or soccer should visit Dennis Martinez National Stadium, home of local legends the Indios del Bóer and the much-loved Deportivo Walter Ferretti. Depending on the score, either celebrate or commiserate with local fans after the game in one of the nearby pubs, clubs or bars.

Finding somewhere handy to unpack your bags close to Granada couldn’t be easier. If you're looking for great service and a comfortable bed, be sure to check out the Hotel Plaza Colon, the Hotel Granada, and the Hotel Colonial Granada.
