We had a lovely week's holiday at the Hotel Excelsior. The staff couldn't have been more helpful, and we want to pay a particular thank you to the resident pianist and musician Enzo, whose brilliant keyboard skills enabled us to dance every evening in the beautiful lounge. He was even able to play requests and to play the theme music to Avanti, the film that attracted us to Ischia in the first place.
It was a very romantic setting, the pool is just stunning and everything so clean. We would upgrade to a sea-view room next time, but we had a very pretty small balcony overlooking the garden area. The restaurant was very expensive, although delicious food, so we ate out most evenings. Breakfast was superb, all tastes are catered for, and a beautiful way to start the day sitting out admiring the pool from the terrace. The beach is a bit tiny, but with private facilities, so very secluded. If you do go to Ischia, visit the Negombo spa, the Mortella gardens and the castle - but don't try an Ischian bus!!

We stayed at the hotel Vittoria at the end of June and previously 10 years ago. Staff were very friendly and welcoming on arrival and throughout our stay. Standard room was spotless and roomy, however we only had a standing fan and with the temperatures in June air conditioning is a must. Room was cleaned every day and towels changed daily. Breakfast was always delicious and well set out and on most days we had a coffee and sandwich by the pool at llunchtime - always served with a friendly smile. Would highly recommend this hotel not only for it's location, a couple of minutes walk from ferry port. but for the staff also. All contributed to a fantastic holiday.

I stayed at the Hotel for four nights and found it to be a very pleasant place to be. It was quiet, the staff where very friendly and helpful, and although I had a ten to fifteen minute walk, back and forward, to either end of Iischia Porte or Ischia Ponte, I found this kept the hotel surroundings peaceful and away from busy streetlife. Internal surroundings may have needed a coat of paint in some areas, otherwise a peaceful place to stay.

The staff at this hotel was exceptionally helpful - very pleasant and always at our service. I liked the location where we could walk around the Porto area and still get to the Pont area by foot - about 15 mintues. Two distinct areas, easy walking location. Nice clean, friendly hotel with a decent breakfast. Our room was small but that is Europe! We did not spend much time there anyway.

Not only is the location of this hotel fantastic, overlooking the Ischia Ponte and the Castel Aragonese and in the proximity of great restaurants, the hotel proprietor, Anna Buono is generous and gracious, and provided us with really helpful pointers on what to see and do while we were in Ischia. Anna truly loves what she does and you can tell that in the way she treats her guests. She made recommendations to see the Negombo thermal baths, the Giardini la Mortella botanical gardens, and to tour the Castel Aragonese. All these places were exceptional and we thank Anna for guiding us in that direction and for creating experiences we will remember for the rest of our lives.
Breakfasts were ample and served on the beautiful upstairs terrace. The decor of the hotel was really lovely. Everything was clean and in perfect condition.
I would stay at this location over and over again if I could. To my way of thinking, it is hard to imagine a better place in Ischia to stay.

This hotel is amazing. The staff was outstanding and never hesitated to provide assistance for all of my needs. They speak great English which was a life saver for me as I know very little Italian.
Unfortunately I got the flu during my stay and they made arrangements for a doctor to see me and went out of their way to go the pharmacy to have the prescriptions filled and translated them into English!
They are located right at the port and in the hub of all that is going on. Shopping is right out your door with some of the most amazing shops anywhere. Lots of see at the port and great people watching.
They have great room service with a full choice of entrees and the presentation is wonderful and always with a smile and good attitudes. By the time I left I felt that they were truly a part of my extended family.
