welcoming hotel close to the beachPosted May 30, 2014
Pros: Clean and pleasant hotel with relaxing atmosphere. Good variety of food
Cons: the use of proper cups for hot drinks. Free sun beds within the confines of the hotel
Location: Very close to the beach and town where there are restaurants , shops and small fun parks for kids.
We had a wonderful time at Barceló. This was our second holiday here and it was nice to see improvements in the building structure and facilities. We went all inclusive as the food is delicious and more variety than some hotels experienced in Cala d or. Also there are different snack and drinks bars available at various times of the day that give people more choice. Although it was nice to be able to use self service for non-alcoholic drinks; we were restricted the use of proper cups for hot drinks (beach snack bar, swimming pool bar) and had to use polystyrene cups. The beach snack bar have sun beds but they do charge for these. So the definition of all inclusive has to be clarified with the individual hotels' meaning. Entertainment team kept us entertained through the week.

Nice hotel .. Location greatPosted May 12, 2014
Location: Lots of bars and restaurants. Plus the beach,
Was pleased with hotel. Staff friendly and very helpful.. Food was poor but the fact we paid so little for our four day break we decided to eat out in the evenings ... We flew locally . Flight great but we were meant to share transport at the airport to go to our hotel, but this transport didn't arrive and we had to pay to get a taxis to the resort , which was expensive, so that was very disappointing. Would still book through you again .

Great Value in an Excellent LocationPosted Oct 7, 2013 on Hotels.com
Overall the hotel is very good and the value for money was great. The location was good and the sea view we were given was amazing. The only issue we had was the double bed was made up of two singles however the good points of this hotel certainly made up for that.

Nice views, close to white sandy beach.Posted Sep 26, 2013
Pros: Near the beach
Cons: The pillows needs changing. Hotel should not charge tourist for a late check out specially if you had a late check in e.g12 hrs late check in or arriv
Hotel is ok for the value. We enjoyed the beach which hotel has own access. Water is crystal clear. Food is ok however their buffet food supply always runs out you have to wait for the top up. The romm is ok but pillows are uncomfortable. The location is great a lot of local shops and other restaurants. However we will go back again but w/ a seaview room next time. I also find it unfair that we had a late checking in as we arrived 2am 23/09/13 when suppose to be our 1st day check in was on 22/09/13 w/ dinner included, we lost 12 hours and our dinner. So we requested to have a late check out as our flight was late at night. Everyday you have to ask them if possible. Until they day 2 hrs before 12 noon official check out time, only they said we can chaeck out late until 5 pm but we have to pay 20euro. What about the time we lost for checking in late...dissapointing....:(

Lovely hotel, nice location, lovely poolPosted Sep 25, 2013
Visited this hotel in May and September this year and loved it! Can't understand the bad reports about it; I really don't understand why people want a 5 star service for a 3 star price! I thought the selection of food was excellent, it was generally other guests that made the dining experience sometimes like pigs at a trough!! I would highly recommend this hotel as it is good value for money and the entertainment is cheesy but very funny!

Average hotel in close proximity to the beachPosted Aug 28, 2013
Positives - the hotel is in excellent proximity to the beach; for those with children there are plenty of entertainment options for them close by; the hotel is in close proximity to many cafes, restaurants and bars; the food at the buffet was satisfactory; there is free wifi in the hotel lobby; the atmosphere around the pool during the day was good (although the music got switched off well before everyone had left the pool area) Negatives - the air-conditioning in the rooms was poor and it was cooler to sleep with the balcony doors open than closed; for those without children, the entertainment options were limited - even the bar overlooking the beautiful bay closed well before people had finished at the beach and on the sunbeds; the sunbeds within the hotel area that overlook the ocean must be paid for (12 euros for two people) and the pool is busy, so although the sunbeds there are free, it is harder to get them; the décor in the room was outdated; there was a space in the hotel room for a fridge however there was no fridge.

Adequate for the price bracketPosted Aug 9, 2013
My family were staying in a nearby hotel so I was at the Barceló Ponent Playa only at night and for breakfast. The room was adequate with a nice view of the bay - spoiled somewhat by the noise from the nearby the air-conditioners - but there was a slightly musty smell in the room throughout my stay and the air-conditioning never really managed to cool the room properly. The room and bathroom were kept clean but the bed was not very comfortable - very low and thin mattress. Breakfast was good and plentiful but the restaurant was always very warm, including on the one evening when I also had dinner there. Having said that, my stay was not very expensive and therefore the hotel was not bad value for money.

Something for everyone.Posted May 18, 2013
Pros: Ease of access to beach.
Cons: Noise from evening entertainment (but this finished before midnight).
Location: Just above the beach in small inlet. An hour's easy drive from airport on east of island close to Caves of Drach & other tiny sheltered beaches.
Superbly situated, value for money, caters for all ages, statuses & tastes. Staff most obliging from reception to housekeeping & from bar staff to restaurant. Somewhat limited parking but more than adequate when we stayed.
