Best hotel in MauritiusPosted Aug 4, 2014
Pros: Location, beach, hotel staff, beds, activities you can do at the resort, food, spa, little extras the hotel offers complimentary.
Cons: The Thai restaurant should be included in half/full board rather than having to pay an extra supplement.
Location: Best location on Mauritius, beautiful beaches and clear water, well protected so not windy at the resort but great windsurfing/kitesurfing nearby.
Beautiful resort on the best stretch of beach in Mauritius - incredible views and sunsets each evening. The staff are all warm and friendly and go to great lengths to make you feel welcome and special. The rooms are well decorated and the beds super comfy. The resort also makes their own amenities so lovely shampoo, shower gel etc! Great food and good value too. I also had a spa treatment which was brilliant, and we loved the little extras like the secret bar and screen on the beach - as well as "message in a bottle". You can also swim with dolphins very close the resort and leave from the hotel's beach, and if you're into windsurfing/kitesurfing one of the best spots in the world is a 10 minute walk from the hotel. I'd definitely go back and will recommend to all my friends.

Great Hotel, Great service, highly recomendedPosted Jun 27, 2014 on Hotels.com
The hotel is fantastic with beautiful gardens and great beach if you just want to laze around. If your into Kite surfing, its a short 10 minute walk to the kite beach. The hotel staff were excellent as was the food. The only downside is if you like to go out to eat in local resteraunts then there aren't any within easy reach, you will need a car or pay for a taxi. Other than that I would highly recommend this hotel.

Beautiful Hotel & friendly staffPosted Jun 2, 2014
Pros: The hotel is very relaxing and as it appears to be very popular for weddings and honeymooners, there are very few, if any, children around.
Cons: The price of food and drink was extremely expensive. I live in Dubai so am used to high prices, but, this hotel was more expensive than any in Dubai
Location: Location is in the SW corner of Mauritius, good for Beaches, water sports, relaxation and Golf. Very little nightlife so dancing shoes not required
My wife and I stayed at the Lux Le Morne for 5 nights to attend our sons wedding. The check-in procedure was fine and took around 20 minutes to complete. The staff were both efficient and friendly. Our room was very nice and we were very close to the Pool and the Beach. The weather was perfect temperature wise and even though we had a few rainy showers, it did not spoil the holiday in any way. My wife and initially booked on a Room Only basis, however, we upgraded to half board upon arrival after we had seen the cost of food and drink in the hotel. The problem being that there are no other alternative eating places within 5 miles of the hotel, so you are therefore left with no choice but to eat at the hotel or take taxis to go elsewhere. If I was booking again, I would definitely book All Inclusive. The food at the Hotel is excellent but the price gave me indigestion.

Beautiful location and roomPosted Mar 17, 2014 on Hotels.com
Lux was a good find. The room had delightful views (a honeymoon suite) and was always extremely tidy and clean. The only disappointment was despite several requests, a wasps nest on the balcony was not dealt with. Restaurants were fine with good food and service. The bar service was not so good. Spa was good and we used this a few times. Generally, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend the hotel to others.

an excellently managed & run hotelPosted Nov 19, 2013
Pros: Excellent facilities - very clean rooms - very pleasant and accommodating staff. The meal structure was brilliant different meal themes every night
Cons: Evening turn down was a little hit and miss - but not a problem
Location: Very relaxing under the Brabant. Resort offers a very wide range of on site activities and will arrange trips. A hire car gave us greater freedom
My wife and I were in need of a relaxing break, coming off the loss of both our mothers to cancer. LUX Le Morne offered us everything we could have wished for. E.G. I happened to mention in passing that it was my wife's birthday and the member of staff took it on board and the kitchen provided a splendid cake. One of the senior waiting staff went to the trouble to find out our names and used them most politely. These two little things were repeated time after time and made us feel extremely welcome and very valued. The manager makes himself available to chat to guests and nothing is too much trouble. This was our first ever stay in a resort style hotel and we could not have picked a better location and discovered a hotel that caters for all needs. All the staff from bottom to top greeted guests with a ready smile and a bright Bonjour. In short it was fantastic in every way - the sun and warm sea helped.

Simply Amazing Resort!Posted Nov 8, 2013
Pros: Excellent service and welcome from Ananto and Natasha at The Beach restaurant. Super beach service from Ludwig. Thank You!
Cons: Only two small points: The shower temperature could be thermostatically regulated. Curries at Nipa could have been better.
Our stay at the Lux Le Morne was outstanding from start to finish. Upon arrival we walked in to a calm, welcoming atmosphere. The check in process was handled with ease, and within 15 minutes of our arrival we were invited to sit down and enjoy lunch. The room - a Junior Suite was well appointed with a huge, comfortable bed, sofa, and the usual coffee, tea, television, safe etc. In the bathroom there is a double basin unit, a large walk in shower and huge whirlpool bath for 2. The shower temperature was at times suddenly hot or cold, but a small inconvenience in an otherwise impressive room. The room was made up in the morning and the bed turned down every evening without fail. And so to the beach! Glorious white sand, an ample supply of comfortable lounge chairs made up daily with fresh towels. Super service with drinks and food to the beach contributed to a truly relaxing holiday. The food was, for the most part, simply outstanding. Fresh breakfast with fruit, pastries, cooked eggs and omelettes to order, pancakes, waffles and french toast to name but a few selections. The lunches and evening meals were also excellent, in particular "The Beach" restaurant. We also tried "Nipa" restaurant, and found it to be good, but not up to the standards of the other restaurants. If you are thinking of going all inclusive, my advice would be DO IT! The lunches at "The Beach" were excellent, and there are some nice wines on offer within the all inclusive package.

Nice rooms, good for relaxing, very quietPosted Sep 15, 2013
Pros: Rooms, beach
Cons: food, friendliness of staff, swimming pool temperature
Location: directly on the beach, golf course very close, but in generalyver secluded
Nice rooms in a nice hotel, location directly on the beach whcih is amazing. Food was very dissapointing, and the problem is that there is no where close by to offer different options so you are completely dependent on the hotel. The buffet was really not good at all but the other two restaurants offer a better standard, you need to book at least 3 days in advance for these. Water temp in the pool was VERY cold, I did not see anyone in the pool for the whole 6 days, I personally like hovering around the pool bar and would hope to share a beer with other guests ect but this was not possible. Staff could certainly be more friendly, in general it is a beatiful place to stay and we had a very relaxing time, the food was not great and there is pretty much nothing to do in the evenings although the hotel do try by putting on some entertainment to be fair to them.

Honeymoon in paradisePosted Jul 22, 2013
Pros: Location, food and friendly staff
Cons: We were half board and thought the drinks were rather expensive, beer over £7, a brandy £10.
Location: Perfect, on a beautiful beach, with the mountain as the back drop
Beautiful location, staff were excellent at all times, food was delicious every evening with a great variety. Our room was a prestige junior suite, which was a few steps from the beach. The gardens and layout of hotel with the beach worked perfectly. Basically whatever you needed was catered for, one day we wanted to take a tour of the island and we would recommend the hotel limo and Iqban as the driver was great guide. Sunsets are amazing everyday.

Honeymoon in MauritiusPosted Feb 4, 2013 on Hotels.com
My wife and I spent the last 4 nights of our honeymoon here. The resort itself is beautiful, with a gorgeous beach set against a scenic mountain. We got a junior suite classic with half board for $550 a night. The room was nice and very clean, but I don't feel it measured up to the high cost. The staff all seemed unhappy with visibly low morale. I don't know if they're overworked, underpaid, or a combination thereof, but I definitely didn't see the smiles and happy bearing I've seen in other hotels and resorts. Also, very few of the staff speak more than a few words of English. Even the reception staff had trouble understanding my wife and I. If you speak French relatively well though, you'll have no problems.
