The Perfect Getaway

Posted Nov 21, 2014
This is a very nice resort to get away and relax. The staff was pleasant, the food was good, and the beach was quiet.

Would recommend, but room for improvement

The resort was very relaxing and fun, however food as well as turn down services were inconsistant. The Red Lane Spa also charged hefty fees that we didn't know about.

Wonderful weekend getaway

Posted Nov 3, 2014
The SO and I went for a long weekend without the children. The staff is so incredibly friendly. I cannot speak highly enough about them. Genuinely warm people. Transfers to and from the airport were a breeze. Food was excellent. We were not there enough days to try all the restaurants, but we enjoyed the ones we did try. We loved the marinated tomatoes at Casanova, the fish at stew fish, and the steaks at baccarat. Great walking grounds with pretty landscaping. Paradise Island/Atlantis/straw market is an easy cab ride. Well stocked workout facility. We did not utilize the spa though saw many people doing so. Lots of weddings every day. I would recommend this resort to friends.

Great place to escape life

Posted Oct 14, 2014
Pros: Historic and nostalgic. The staff are amazing, but sometimes a little slow ("island time")
Best advice would be to make sure you have weather/beach appropriate clothing for when you land and get changed right away. We didn't and when our room wasn't ready for check-in the wait was brutal because of it. If we had the proper clothes we would have taken a walk on the beach or dip in the pool while we waited. Otherwise though everything was pretty amazing. The hotel is overall in great shape and the staff are all amazingly friendly and accommodating. Just be ready for a few things to happen on island time...aka sometimes they don't exactly rush to get things done. But after a couple days in paradise, you won't really care about the time anything takes anyways. Couple tips - grab beach/pool towels when they're around as they go fast. Store them in your room through the day and just use them as needed and dry them on the balcony if they aren't covered in sand. Bring an insulated coffee mug or cup to keep your drinks cool on the beach and so that you don't have to go back to the bar as often. When you arrive try and book all your dinner times and things like water sports as they fill up quickly. But again, all in all an amazing place with such friendly people. You'll enjoy every minute of escaping from life.

Plenty of Food & Premium Liquor!

Posted Sep 21, 2014
Pros: The resort is close to the airport, it is all-inclusive and couples only. The off shore private island was the icing on the cake!
Cons: The Italian restaurant, Casanova, had poor service for us and the food did not look or taste like Italian.
Location: We took the 2.5 hour tour of Nassau. The fort at Port Charlotte was very interesting! This off resort experience was just right!
The Bahamas beaches are the most beautiful! We have traveled to Aruba, Antigua, Jamaica, Riviera Maya and Cabo San Lucas so we know beaches. Sandals Royal Bahamian has a short beach but they make up for it on the off shore private island. We went in September when there are less people and at one point we had part of the private island cove to ourselves! The drinks were always strong and the food was plenty! When we checked in, George made sure we received the room on the highest floor in the Balmoral with the ocean view as requested. Thanks George! Breakfast was served in two restaurants and both are great. Ashley at Spices was always fun and made our breakfast experience enjoyable. Natalyzia made sure our poolside drinks were always replenished if we didn't make it to the swim-up bar. This is our second Sandals resort we have stayed in. It's not as new as the one in Antigua, but still very nice.

Bahamas/Sandals

Posted Aug 25, 2014
Newer rooms are very nice and updated. This would be cancelled out by the fire alarm going off 3 days in a row each in the middle of the night. The 3rd day the alarm went off at 2am, 4am and 6am- ridiculous. Resturants and food was good over all. Pool bars were great. Service was very slow would suggest they add an employee at each of the pools bars and even in the resturants. Water was beautiful, great for snorkel and swimming with the sharks.
