Well-seasoned travelers will enjoy leaving the tourist trail behind by heading to some of the other villages, towns and cities surrounding Onjeong. Sacheon and Jinhae are just two of the many other places worth visiting while you're in North Gyeongsang.
When it's time to spread your wings, why not visit the nearest regional area. Busan sits 45 miles (72 kilometers) away and is home to attractions including Busan Tower, Taejongdae Park and Gwangalli Beach. An effective way to truly appreciate a place is by discovering its history. So be sure to visit the traditional villages while you are in the area. If you're in the hunt for things to do that won't wreak havoc on the budget, why not take a little tour of North Gyeongsang's many outdoor cultural attractions such as open-air museums, gardens and open-air exhibits.
When the temperatures climb, do what the locals do and head to the region's beautiful waterways for a morning of swimming or boating. For those who feel it's important to pick up knowledge as well as souvenirs on their travels, North Gyeongsang has plenty of specialist activities, including city walking tours.
Even the best vacation can't go on forever, so when it's time return home, head to the nearest major airport in Busan, 35 miles (56 kilometers) to the northeast.
