“What a pleasant surprise.”

I had a quick trip to Palm Springs to meet a friend and found the Oasis on line, the reviews seemed good and I thought "well it's just one night" Wow what a shame I only had a night to spend here. The place is actually a condo/time-share so it's immaculately maintained; in fact this must have been one of the cleanest hotels I've ever stayed at. Room;immaculate Bathroom;immaculate Patio...well you get the idea It's a great place for an vacation, but particularly suited for a family that is looking for an economical way to come to the desert and have a fun casual holiday. You are actually getting an entire apartment, with kitchen, living room and spacious balcony. If you're OK with buying groceries and doing the cooking this is a great choice. The place apparently has six pools (the tip I got was don't get a room by the big pool unless you want to be awake until midnight...personally I like a place that has a pool that stays open till midnight but that's just me) sadly with only one morning to explore I found just one secluded pool (with hot tub) that, had I stayed longer would have kept me happy all day. The only downside of this place is the fact that rooms are rarely available. If you happen to see an opening jump on it right away, you won't be disappointed

“Clean the Pools!!!”

Although there are 8 pools at the Oasis Resort, the two pools closest to our suite were not very clean "at all." In fact, one day I called the front desk to complain. One of my main reasons for going to any good hotel in Palm Springs is for their pools. I was extremely disappointed with the pool situation. Thanks for asking...

“Great for Families”

We stayed here looking for a comfortable and affordable place for our family of 5. We often have difficulties finding accommodations that are large enough, nice enough and also affordable. The Oasis filled each of these needs for us. We rented the 2 bedroom Villa which was perfect for us. We had plenty of room for our family. We appreciated and used the well appointed kitchen. The central air conditioning was efficient and kept the unit cool on very hot days. This is not however a luxury hotel suite. It is a timeshare/condo type of unit. For us it was a perfect fit - nice, very clean and well furnished. We would definitely stay here again.

“We'll be going back for years!”

This place was really amazing! The one bedroom condo is perfect for a family of four. We cooked all our own food in the full size kitchen, and the BBQ on the balcony was great. I LOVED the washer and dryer in the unit! But bring your own laundry soap, etc. because it's very expensive at the resort. There are 8 pools, and the one closest to us never had more than a few other people in it. You only get maid service if you stay 9 nights or more, so this might be an issue for some, but it wasn't for us. The resort is not downtown, it's near the border of Palm Springs and Cathedral City, so you're right near the mountains, which we could see from our pool! The location is PERFECT because there is a Vons, Trader Joe's, Target, and Walgreens all within about 3 minutes driving distance. The grounds are BEAUTIFUL and once you get inside the gates, it really is like an oasis! We'll be going back next year, and next time we're staying longer!

When to go
Maybe it depends on where you live, but this beach family can't handle Palm Springs in the summer, so we always go for Spring Break.
Must see
Everyone has to do the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway once in their lives. We did it last year, and I see no reason to do it again, but I'm glad I did it once! Very cool!
Dining
We cooked in the kitchen in the condo, but we went to Cold Stone in Cathedral City, which has a ton of restaurants, both fast food and sit down. The next city, Rancho Mirage, also has a ton of restaurants, but there really aren't very many family-friendly places to eat IN Palm Springs.
Family-friendly activities
We went to The Living Desert in Palm Desert about 15 minutes away, and it was AWESOME!!!
Other
The only negative of our stay was that our balcony wasn't entirely enclosed, there was a pathway from the balcony to the grass, and beyond the grass, to the parking lot. We didn't feel comfortable letting our 4 year old be on the balcony alone, but we would have if it wasn't for that opening. Next year we'll ask for a balcony without that.

“Good to relax”

It's a clean, quiet, and comfortable hotel to relax, but swimming pools could be better. The hotel has several swimming pools, but they are too simple and have little difference in each other. There is no pool or slide for children. Kitchen is almost perfect.

“Happy teachers”

We are teachers who attended a conference at the convention center. This was about 4 miles from the convention center, quiet, plenty of room for all 3 of us to have our own bed and bathroom (2 1/2 bathrooms).

“The Oasis in Palm Springs is always a great place”

The Oasis Resort in Palm Springs is a great spot for vacationers who like the extra privacy and space of a condo. The place is fully furnished and includes a washer and dryer.

Getting around
For those who are spending time in Palm Springs or the Palm Springs area a rental car is a must.

“Extremely Pleasent Surprise”

Expedia has done it again. The Oasis Resort exceded my expectations. Staff was exceptional.I didn't need to bring anything except food & clothes. The condo was very clean, easy to navigate and a pleasure to be in. Being on the second floor was a added bonus as the crawly things that are everywhere in the desert don't like to venture above ground levels. The pool/s were clean & easy to get to. Discount tickets to Soak City helped my budget. Great location. Easy to get to everywhere without a problem. My grandkids were very impressed with the whole set-up and they are very hard to please at times. I have stayed at a lot of motels & resorts in the Palm Springs area over the last 30 years and I was very pleased to say the least. I hope to return in the future. Only thing that could improve would be a tv in both bedrooms & wireless internet access. Thanks Expedia & Oasis Resort. I can't think of a reason NOT to stay ay the Oasis Resort.
