The hotel is the worth we have been lately.

Poor lobby with unpleasant smell. The first thing you see is a notice for an extra payment of 6 euro if you want shampoo. A cranking elevator takes you up while you are wondering if you will stay alive. The room is clean but with an old bed cover, and you have to look for the pillows that are hidden in the cupboard. The breakfast is reasonable.

Basic Hotel, Best for those on Budget

Posted Sep 17, 2012
Pros: The swimming pool.
Cons: Some distance from downtown. Crowded car parking during the week due to a number of business traveller guests. Very small rooms.
Location: Away from the downtown. Fine for guests who have their own transport, but otherwise, a long walk for restaurants etc.
Columbana is a very basic hotel, our room very small and beds not that comfortable. If one is on a tight budget, and wants to be in Regua, this hotel will fit the bill. A 20 minute walk to the downtown area. The Continental breakfasts are standard for this part of the world, and quite adequate, though they did run out of items and not replace them quickly.A good swimming pool, with number of chaise loungers on deck, but insufficient shade umbrellas.
