Sodermalm Green/Sustainable hotels in Stockholm, Sweden

Transfer by taxi from Arlanda to Rival (540.00 sek) booked through hotel. Good idea before you get to know Stockholm Which is best explored on foot. Arrived at night Stockholm and hotel felt very special. Being 41 and born in Stockholm I imagined perhaps a bigger connection with ABBA for this hotel. It is played down which for me is a shame. The hotel has a very cool music / media feel with movies and music supplied and attention given to audio in the bathroom. A slatted blind enabled views from the bathroom into the main room. Very cool. The bar and restaurant are exceptional. Stockholm is apparently amazing in spring/summer (from May) but if you enjoy a naturally beautiful City winter is worth a romantic stop over.

We stayed at The Clarion Stockholm for four days in October. The room was small but clean and as we were only there for four nights the size was not a problem. The shower room was good with everything you could need. The hotel bars and restaurant are very good and all the staff were excellent. The breakfast buffets are superb and cater for everyone's tastes. The only problem we found was that our air conditioning stopped working during the second night and even though it was fixed the next day when we reported it, we still found that it wasn't really sufficient in our small room. However overall we would recommend this hotel to others and will certainly return ourselves.

We really enjoyed our stay and should like to stay there again. The hotel was quiet, the reception staff extremely helpful and the breakfasts excellent. Publicity material should mention that the nearest underground station is Zinkensdamm (not Slussen), as Brannkyrkagatan is a very long road. We found the 'economy' bedroom a bit cramped for 2 people and with hindsight should have opted for one of the more expensive bedrooms.

We arrived on a dark wet December afternoon and were immediately intrigued on entering the hotel courtyard and then delighted by the warm bright reception with pleasant and helpful staff. Coffee, tea and even Gløgg were available on a help yourself basis in reception. Our room was small as expected but adequate with a nice en-suite and tea and coffee making facilities. It was nice and bright with views over the church yard to the magnificent St Katarina’s church. The breakfast buffet was magnificent, catering for all tastes.

Nice hotel which understands the professional business traveler. I have been here many times and will return again.

Great staff and location. Not a luxury hotel, but clean, well-maintained and comfortable. Perfect for a 3-6 night stay in Stockholm.

We stayed there three nights and enjoyed it a lot. Of course the room was quite small but that's a little bit what we were looking for; we wanted to try something different and did not regret it. The price was reasonable. We has a room for two on the upper deck, above the restaurant, so it was very quiet en we could feel the boat rock gently. We had our own sink in the room along with a (very) small desk with a chair and a small wardrobe. The toilets and showers were fairly close to the room and both worked just fine (I recommend bringing your own shower gel). There was also a big common living room where you could watch the TV and have chats with other travellers. The view over Gamla Stan is also quite amazing and the vision could span over a good part of Östermalm too. I usually went off the subway at the Gamla Stan station and walk on the bridge to Söder Mälarstrand, but you can probably also get off at Slussen, as it may be easier to reach Rygerfjord if you carry heavy luggage. The reception for the Wi-fi varies greatly depending on where you are located in the boat, but generally there is good reception in the room. You can also rent a bike right at the hotel for a very reasonable price. The staff is very friendly and the breakfast has a lot of variety, including some traditional Swedish food and the price for it is alright.
