A Dutch Delight!

Posted Jul 22, 2014
Pros: We liked the fact that, the hotel staff were more than happy to help us settle in well and went out of their way to help us, along with the nice view.
Cons: Possibly there could be some more English television channels, we were unable to get our safe working for our stay as the instructions were not clear.
Location: Zaandam is a really small and intimate place however it offers some stunning views and is a difference to the busy nature of cities such as Amsterdam.
Me and my brother had decided to visit Holland so we could see all that Amsterdam had to offer. Unbeknownst to us, we had booked a hotel room which was just outside of Amsterdam. This turned out to be a blessing in disguise as staying in Zaandam, we managed to avoid all of the hassle which came with the busy nature of Amsterdam. The local people are quite friendly and it is quite close to Amsterdam as we would catch a train daily which was incredibly reasonable when compared to London and took roughly 15 minutes; with free Wi-Fi on the train, this seemed like nothing. Zaandam train station itself is less than a 5 minute walk from the hotel. Given the chance to return we would most certainly take it.

Luxury in a dodgy area

I chose to stay in Zaandam because it is 12 minutes by train into Amsterdam, and the price was cheaper. It is a 3-4 minute walk from the train station, and on the other side of the train station is a shopping district. Bicycle rental is available. A double room is spacious and very comfortable, the bathroom is a good size, there is heating and aircon and 4-5 channels in English. Rooms were cleaned daily and service is professional. I would have liked tea/coffee making facilities in the room. There is however, a vending machine, a restaurant/bar, and a computer for guest use.

Lovely staff, lovely stay

Enjoyed the style of this hotel, very cutting edge compared to what we were used to in the states. Staff just wonderful, especially in restaurant, where the food was excellent. Definitely would return if back in town.

An Excellent Hotel

This is an excellent hotel, very friendly and attentive staff. An excellent location literally 3 minutes from the train station, and then a 10 minute ride from central Amsterdam. So time it right and it's ideal for a great city break. We will definitely be going back. Its only 5 minutes from the town centre shops and bars. My one criticism is that there is no tea and coffee facilities in the rooms, but the rooms are spacious & modern with fantastic showers.
