"Hotel Sol is an excellent choice to stay when visiting the Panajachel area. Unlike many other places in the area, the building is secure, very clean, the rooms are big, the shower (hot and cold water) actually works, and the staff are attentive and helpful. Although the hotel is in the periphery of Panachel, for less than $1 (5 quetzales) you can hop into a tuck-tuck and go anywhere in Panajachel. I have stayed in several places in the area and Hotel Sol is my number one choice."

"Property could use some upgrades but overall it is in good condition. They should upgrade all pool furniture & keep pool area cleaner, plus play better tunes. The staff is very friendly… they do play the same playlist over and over again by the pool and that’s quite annoying. Music is loud & on by 9am. The room was kept clean by staff, and I had some good roommates. I stayed with 3 other girls. The food is very GOOD! There’s also free food in the communal kitchen left by other guests. No one...

"My husband and I had been staying in Antigua with a bunch of friends. We had been hiking and site seeing. We wanted a few days of just us. We loved this house. Quaint. Cozy. Excellent views, lovely garden with amazing outdoor spaces. A Tuk Tuk ride to any neighboring town. This home is a gem!"
