Wonderful Experience!!
Hotel Andra is the perfect place to stay in Seattle. It is centrally located; only a 5 minute walk to the Public Market and a few blocks away from shopping and dining. Because it is a renovated hotel, it has charm and a wonderful "homey" feel. The staff is very friendly and was able to help us out with attraction and dining suggestions. I would definitely stay there again!!!

Firm Mattress - Be Ready
Stayed one night in a suite. Mattress was extremely firm, so much so that my wife slept on the couch and I slept on top of the down comforter. Bathroom was also very small. Bedroom and Living Room was large so a conversion of square footage in either to bathroom space would be my recommendation. Staff was friendly and hotel was very clean. Had the mattress been slightly less firm we would have been satisfied. Another room was not available so I do not know if all of the mattresses are this firm or if ours was a fluke or possibly a suite for those who request a very firm mattress.

Very Accommodating Staff
The staff was very accommodating for our request for a room change. We wanted to move to a room that was away from a party next to our original room and away from the elevator. They arranged everything and had us in a new room in just a few minutes.

Well be staying here agaon on our next trip to Seattle
This was my 7th trip to Seattle and Ive stayed all over the place. The Andra is within easy walking distance of downtown stores, Pike Place Mkt. and all the local attractions, natural and touristic. The hotel is superbly well-organized. Everything in our room was spotless and everything worked but in any case the room handbook contained everything we needed to know about the TV, the alarm clock etc. Robes are provided, theres a coffee maker and ladies will love that they leave you lots of towels not just a miserable two or three. Its right opposite the Dahlia Lounge and the Dahlia bakery (a good breakfast spot if you love to sit outside) and you can walk to a wide range of otehr good restaurants. We had breakfast once and lunch twice at the their restaurant Cafe Lola and enjoyed the Tom Douglas cuisine. Chef Douglas pizza pie restaurant is two minutes from The Andra. You can catch a bus or the Monorail withion a few blocks and there was always a taxi outside when we needed it. if not the very attentive bellmen would soon call us one. WOuld recommend without reservation.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
We loved Waterfall Park near Pioneer Sq.(take your lunch) the Olympic Sculpture Park, the Conservatory of Flowers in Volunteer Park, the Arboretum in Washington Park. The last two are close to one another in Capitol Hill, a delightful district of Craftsman homes from the early 1900s with lots of street trees and lovely yards.

Traveling with pet
The staff at Hotel Andra was so accommodating. We got in at 7:30 am after a long flight from Honolulu and requested early check in because we were traveling with a cat. The guy at the front desk was so fun (I wish I remembered his name!) and really put us at ease. While we waited for our room we had a delicious breakfast at Lola. When we did get our room they had upgraded us to a suite as it was the first one available. Everyone at the hotel was so nice and accommodating- even asking how our cats stay was when we checked out.

Great place to stay!
This was a total find. The location was terrific, half way between the Space Needle and Pikes Place Market, walking distance to everything. Two fantastic restaurants at the hotel and it looked like a great one across the street. Hotal staff was incredible. I would stay there again without a doubt

More than pleasantly surprised!
I never heard of this hotel, and found it comparable to a "boutique" version of the Hotel W chain. I loved everything about it, including its location just a few steps from my meeting.
Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks
Take the Seattle Bus Shuttle to and from the airport: quick ride, every half hour departures, and only $10 ea way. Very reliable and on time.

1 night stay - pretty decent
Short stay, just 1 night. The hotel was nicely upgraded for being a 100 year old building. Look and feel was modern and chic. I wish we had known about the street construction going on during our stay. It made it a bit difficult to walk around the area. Pros: Front desk was great! Helpful and knowledgeable about the area, and always with a smile. A+ on customer service! Cons: The bathroom was a little small compared to the rest of the room and the shower tub didnt drain properly. Again, its a 100 year old building. Parking is expensive at $35/night. Its valet only and I believe they rent parking space from a garage nearby which accounts for the high rate. Overall, we had a pleasant and convenient stay - close to Pike Place Market and the Space Needle Monorail. Reviewing other hotel ratings and reviews, Hotel Andra gave us the comfort and peace of mind (NO auto theft or burglary) without the extreme high price of other 4-5 star hotels.

Very Comfortable Accomodations
The towels, pillows, bedding and bed were extremely comfortable. No need to bring your own pillow! We had to remove all their $$$ items from the little fridge so my hubby could put some beer in there. They do give you complimentary nice shampoo and soap. Room was small but elegant. A huge flat TV and good air conditioning were appreciated. Be careful not to bang your shins on the boxy bed frame. There is construction next door where they are building another hi-rise, but we were not on that side. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. The popular bar/restaurant off the lobby adds an air of excitement to comings and goings. Convenient to all downtown places of interest. We would stay there again.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
Stroll down to Pike Place Market early and get some delicious pastry and coffee at "Le Panier" (opens at 7) while you watch the flower vendors unload and set up their stands. Our daily routine.

an affordable small luxury hotel
Wonderful location in downtown Seattle; felt very safe; easy transportation to/from airport; walking distance to Space Needle, market on the water, mall, several restaurants and so convenient to have a grocery/deli across street for easy lunches, milk/juice for the kids. Extremely professional but kind, accomodating employees. Had a suite for 3 adults, a toddler and a crib for an infant and had plenty of room. One of the few hotels with Queen size beds (very comfortable) and room for a crib. Also had a couch and chair.
You dont need a rental car with the wonderful transportation from the airport.Car parking at hotels is very expensive. Bought discounted R/T tickets from airport and were let off with a couple of hundred feet from the hotel. They come around every 1/2 hr.

Nice place
Great location. Very friendly staff. Large room. Restaurant was the best part.
Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks
Be prepared to pay for parking. We paid full price at the hotel, but there are several locations close by that are 1/2 the price.

A Great Stay
I thought this hotel was great. It was located close to main attractions and we walked everywhere (Pike Place Market, Ferry, Space Needle). The bed was comfortable and it was extremely quiet. It had a great Restaurant-Lola, as well as a handy little bakery across the street.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
The only downside to this hotel is that we never found the concierge to speak to and we had a lot of questions. It was fortunate we had books on Seattle because we pretty much found everything on our own. The people at the front desk were not the most approachable with the exception of the last day-it was a different lady who couldnt have been nicer. She got us a town car to return to the airport and this was way better than a taxi and cost about the same.

Disappointing
The hotel location was great. Walking distance to the Market and Westlake Center. When we arrived we were greeted warmly and kindly by the valet, and that is where the service stopped. The girl who checked us in was surly and desparately needed to run a brush through her hair. I was surprised that a manager didnt tell her to clean herself up. She looked a mess. I would have overlooked her appearance if she had even given us a hello or a smile, but we didnt get either. It took a while for her to find us a room, which was fine (were pretty patient when it comes to hospitality operations, as my husband and I are both in the business) but she kept sighing as if we were ruining her day. The room was decorated nicely and it was clean enough. The bathroom was tiny and it was clear that when the building was remodeled, they failed to update the bathroom vanities and tile. I loved the pillows on the bed. The bedding was just a duvet and a sheet. It was a very uncomfortable nights sleep for both of us. We were too hot under the down duvet, and too cold with just a sheet. The elevators smelled horrible. We did have an amazing experience in the bar downstairs. We stopped off for a drink and the bartender was awesome. He was knowledgeable of the local nightlife and recommended some great places for us to check out. We had a great night because of him. We live just outside the city, and we will definitely return to the restaurant. The hotel, on the other hand, was not a winner for us.

lux is not the word for the suite
We stayed in a so-called Lux suite over the easter holiday. The price seemed like a real value for a suite in downtown Seattle, so my husband, daughter, and I decided to try it out, rather than heading back to our usual choices for such outings - the Fairmont, Hyatt, or Monaco. The room was an uncomfortable, angular jumble of too-big furniture in our way--the only comfortable piece being the bed (it was wonderful!). The bathroom was tiny and aging (and I thought the hotel was relatively new?)--the bath tub was motel-6ish, with peeling paint. There was no DVD player available (standard in most suites, in our experience), the TV in the sitting area was not aligned with the sofa or any other seating (very awkward to watch), and the glasses provided for water & wine were dirty. The entire time we were there the street outside was under contruction, so access was difficult and not made any easier by assistance of the bell staff, who seemed more interested in chatting up passersby than opening a door for us (as we carried our own bags). Retrieving our bags (we stored them while we went to Easter brunch) also took a long time and no assistance was offered in helping us schlep things to our car, despite the fact that we were dressed up and the staff clearly were not doing anything else. Really, for that price, one would be happier at the Vintage Park or Hotel Monaco, where they know how to do "boutique."
Traveler's tip on dining
After a day at the market, we really enjoyed Serious Pie--casual, but seriously good food & a nice wine-by-the-glass selection. For a really good steak dinner out, we always enjoy Mortons and go every chance we get!
