Seattle - Alexis Hotel - Great Night Out

We got a great deal and this turned out to be the perfect place to stay during a wedding at the hotel across the street. The hotel’s great (it doesn’t feel like a franchise) and has a lot of character and the room was great. Loved the room service too!

Very nice hotel!

The room was comfortable and had character - there was great artwork in the lobbies and the ambience was great. Being on a busy street we were initially worried about noise from traffic / bars/ etc., but heard little of it. Great breakfast too.

agreat place to stay down town in seattle

The room was great and a central location to Pioneer square and the Pike Place market and downtown water front. Breakfast a little too spendy so go out to Ettas or somewhere close. The Pike place market is the best.

Traveler's tip on dining

There are several great places to eat in Seattle. My wife and I had a great meal pair with great wine at Place Piggal at Pike Place Market. Strllas, Ettas or any pub and have the best beer on the planet, Mac & Jacks Aferican Amber.

Love, love, love this hotel

For the price, we were shocked at the quality and comfort of the room. All the amenities necessary for a comfortable stay and then some. We will make this our favorite hotel in Seattle.

Take your puppy!

I took my wife here for a weekend get-away and we brought out 4 month old puppy Bella along. The staff was AWESOME! We went to get drinks and appetizers and the ladies at the front desk watch her for about an hour. After that every employee knew that we were Bella’s parents and she loved the attention. The room was a little loud from the street noise, but, overall it was a very enjoyable weekend. Close to everything in downtown Seattle.

Elegant accomodations without the attitude.

Excellent place to stay in downtown Seattle. A block uphill from the waterfront and a few blocks south from Pike’s Place Market. Complementary wine social was very nice.

Traveler's tip on dining

Visit Nijo Sushi for their happy hour - just around the corner on Spring street. Great sushi at even better prices.

Nice, good location

Reasonably and non intrusive. Discount rate. Free wine w/ guests from 5 to 6, a great break. Best hotel for ferry access, yet 4/5 blocks to attractions. On bus route, and easy to get cabs.

Quick Trip in Seattle

This was our first time in Seattle and the Alexis Hotel was a very nice hotel! This was a last minute booking on Expedia and it took a few minute at check-in for the front desk agent to get all the info from expedia it was so new. The front desk, valet and bell staff were all very nice and the look of the hotel once you got into the lobby was modern and cool with a certain elegance. Once I got up to my room I was very glad I had booked here for my only night in Seattle. The room had a great comfortable bed, a nice big flat screen T.V., good bath amenities and just the right touch of class and elegance that I needed from a long road trip! The one "bad" comment I might make on the hotel is the "workout room" is super small and don’t expect to get fully workout in. Also I guess the overnight parking was alittle steep ($36), but I guess parking is a premium like San Fran. The location of the hotel was very close to Pikes Place and surrounding area. I would diffenately stay there again!

Traveler's tip on dining

Try Long restaurant which also has the Jellyfish Bar. It’s a Vietmanese restaurant that has a good menu and serves late food&drink close to the Alexis Hotel. They have a late night happy hour with certain drinks all week long and a nice late night menu. If you goto the bar ask for Mark from Las Vegas!

Very Nice, some city noise though

Service was great, staff were friendly, had a great experience. Only downfall was parking is expensive, and valet is the only option. Also, heard some noise from the street below-though not bad.

Alexis Hotel

We stayed in the historic section of the hotel and the rooms were more or less giant suites with 12 foot ceilings and beautiful molding. Quite amazing!

The Alexis is wonderful!

I cannot say enough good things about the Alexis Hotel! We were so pleased with everything!! We arrived late at night and were greeted very cordially. We requested additional bath linens, and they were delivered immediately. The room/suite was absolutely beautiful -- spacious, comfortable, clean. All staff members we encountered treated us like royalty, offering help with everything from food to travel tips. The morning coffee was delicious, and the evening wine delightful. We loved seeing the "Pet Board" that listed all pets who were also enjoying The Alexis! Quite a draw for pet lovers!! Again, there are too few words to adequately express our enjoyment of this stay in Seattle. I would recommend The Alexis to everyone!

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Staying at The Alexis allowed us to walk to the attractions on the water - aquarium, shops, restaurants, etc. Also, Pike Place Market was an easy walk from the hotel and quite the experience! The monorail ride to the Space Needle was easy, and public transportation took care of everything else. So much to do -- so little time. We’ll have to come back!!

A Great Place to Stay!

The Alexis hotel is a great place to say. Everything was top notch! Had a problem in the bathroom and had to call the front desk. The phone was still warm from my hand when hotel maintenance knock on the door. Excellent, just Excellent!

Traveler's tip on local attractions

In walking distance to many of Seattle’s tourist attractions, shopping and restaurants.

Great Location

This was our first trip to Seattle and we felt that we could not have picked a better hotel as far as location goes. We were a 10 minute walk from Pike’s Place, a 15 minute walk from Safeco and a 10 minute walk from the waterfront. The room was very clean, spacious, modern and had great amenities. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The only thing we did not like was the pillows. (Too soft.)

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

If you are at all wavering on whether or not to rent a car, we would recommend that you do not rent a car. Everything is within walking distance and parking fees are way too high everywhere in the city.

Excellent hotel...HUGE rooms...not walking distance to Pike’s

The hotel was beautiful. Our room was huge, probably twice the size of most rooms. Everything was perfect. My only dissapointment is that I thought it was within walking distance to Pike’s Place Market but due to the very steep hills on some streets the hotel ends up too far a walk to the market. The valet is also quite pricey. I believe it was $30-35 per day. But the service was excellent as was the hotel.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

There are several parking garages withing 1/2 mile to the hotel if you’re looking to save money on parking.

Great Hotel

My wife and I stayed in the Alexis prior to our cruise. It was wonderful. Close to the pier and resturants and within about a block or two of the Public Market on Pike street. The hotel staff gave us some suggestions on resturants and local attractions that where rally helpful. If and when we go back to Seattle, we’ll stay here again!

Great place to stay downtown

The Alexis is a great place to stay, its close to everything you want to do in Seattle. I suggest that if you are only going for a few days and just doing the tourist thing don’t take a car. If you stay at the Alexis you can walk to EVERYTHING. Nice rooms, nice bar...

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Stay at the Alexis and walk to everything.

Very nice hotel

This hotel is situated in downtown Seattle and is in a great location. The wharf is only a block away and the ferry boats are less than a five minute walk across a pedestrian bridge. Restaurants are plentiful and something to meet every wallet. We took the ferry across to Bainbridge Island for dinner one evening (recommended by the hotel valet) and had a very nice experience. Only about $6.50 per person to go across and your return trip is free. The hotel staff is more than helpful and the valet service is quick to get your car. They do charge $34/day which is comparable to what you would pay if you wanted to park in a garage elsewhere. There is no 24 hr curbside parking so you are better off with the valet. Morning traffic out of the city can be a bit difficult and returning in the afternoon is busy as can be expected. We upgraded to the king size room and it was worth the extra room. The bed was comfortable and closet space is enough to store your bags as well as a three drawer chest for basic clothing. We booked through Expedia and had no problems. We’ll definitely stay there again when we go back!

Traveler's tip on recreational activities

Lots of fun things to do within 5 minutes walk including great shopping, museums, and Pike’s Place Market.

Lovin’ Seattle

Great stay ... although the hotel was under renovations as far as water side views which admittedly was a drawback, otherwise it was hospitality at virtually its best. The staff was extremely courteous and accomodating (hey they even allow for Fido to come along, which we’ll remember for next time). Rooms were very spacious, comfortable ... only thing missing was a fireplace and jacuzzi jets. Worthwhile stay!

Traveler's tip on local attractions

In the heart of virtually everything major Seattle, with the homey Seattle touch! Big city with a small town feel. Totally enjoyed proximity to Pike’s market, EMP, Space Needle, waterfront -- you name it, we were there!

Heart of Seattle

Great place! Friendly staff! Central location so you can walk to most attractions. Qwest Field was our ultimate goal and it was a short walk from the hotel.

Great hotel

This hotel exceeded all of our expectations. Our room was exceptionally spacious, clean and comfortable and unlike so many other places we’ve stayed at, it felt like home immediately. We loved the artwork and the eclectic furniture and the large plant in our room added a nice, homey touch. On the last evening, we did experience a problem with the safe which refused to open. We were tired from a long road trip and had to get up early to get to the airport the next morning. The weekend staff appeared inexperienced and uncertain on how to handle the problem (which caused some anxiety and panic on our part). After some phone calls to an offsite manager, the situation was resolved within about an hour and we were able to retrieve our belongings. In general, the staff was very professional and helpful, however. Highly recommend this hotel.

Traveler's tip

Great hotel for romantic getaways. For nature lovers, we recommend the Washington Arboretum and Japanese Garden. We also completed an ambitious, 1-day 10-hour road trip around Olympic National Park.

Classy and Comfortable

We felt like we had our own apartment in Seattle, complete with concierge and doorman! Friendly, helpful staff. Large, comfy room. We especially enjoyed talking with other guests at wine tasting each evening, exchanging sightseeing tips. Great location. Don’t miss the Nordstrom Rack and Gum Wall with ’ABC’ ART - ’already been chewed’.

Traveler's tip on dining

We were out early and down to Lowell’s in Pike Peak Market for brkfst, order at counter and sit on top floor. Happy hour 4-6pm at Japanese restaurant around the corner from hotel, great tempura shrimp. Took the ferry over to Bainbridge for Sunday brunch at Clearwater Casino. Didn’t win in the casino but broke even with oysters, shrimp and thai noodles from the buffet!

Great Seattle experience!

5+ Star Experience/Recommendation. Best, most memorable hotel experience I’ve had, and I travel frequently all over the world. I was traveling with my daughters, so the person who checked us in put us in a suite that featured pictures of ballet dancers - my girls loved it! I found the hotel staff refreshingly personable, accommodating, & helpful - from the person who checked us in, to the hotel operator, to the valet, to the concierge, to the waitress in the dining room. It was obvious that they all wanted to ensure we had the best (Alexis) experience possible, and we did. The Alexis ensures you not only have a great hotel experience, but a great Seattle experience. This is the first time I’ve ever submitted a recommendation for any hotel - that’s how much we enjoyed our stay - I hope you try the Alexis.

Great downtown Seattle location, just a few blocks from Pike Place Market and in the other direction, Pioneer Square. And you can bring your dog! - for breakfast, get the crab cakes benedict
