Enjoyed my stay but feel it needs updating
I stayed in this hotel a couple of times over the last 30 years.. location is fantastic, i find the service provided by the staff faultless, they are professional and will do what they can to assist. Breakfast is really good with loads of options. Rooms are good sized but no air con, so in hot weather you have to leave the window open... In summary, whilst this is not a negative review, it does feel like it needs updating in line with some of the other hotel chains in the locale

Great Aachen location
Excellent location, steps from the Rathaus square and the cathedral, and a batch of good restaurants. Breakfast was excellent, only slightly diminished by so-so coffee. My room was up under the eaves of the building, with a lot of character, but also had a good little fridge and plenty of storage. A couple of little oddities with lights that didn't work and cold water which would go warm, but nothing serious.

Great hotel. Very friendly check in. Complimentary beer and soda as well as snacks. Super convenient for Christmas markets. Would definitely stay here again.

Okay hotel in Aachen city centre. Good location. Decent breakfast. Room window not very well soundproofed-it was possible to clearly hear people talking outside the hotel at 4am. WiFi signal in room was terrible. No free bottle of water in room either - its the norm in German hotels to provide a free bottle of water.

This hotel was extremely disappointing and served up 2 of the worst nights sleep I have ever had. The room lacked any ventilation besides opening the window - however the noise of rowdy drunks all night and the construction site across the road starting early each day was unbearably loud. The mattresses were also incredibly unyielding and hard which also contributed to the poor sleep. This hotel was a stain on what was otherwise a lovely stay in Aachen.

First of all, they don’t have parking. There’s maybe 6 spots and you can forget about getting one. To advertise parking is wrong. The staff was a bit clueless, and the managers were not at all friendly. The internet was atrocious. Non existent. .1 - .25 mBit down. When I informed the manager, all I got was excuses. They ‘fixed’ it and I was getting less than 1 mBit down. The manager said it was fixed and that’s all they could do. Breakfast was absolutely nothing special. I would never stay here again.

Can’t believe this is 4*
We booked this hotel on the basis of having parking. Arriving after a long drive we were told there is no parking only to find out in check out there is parking.... Room was ridiculously hot and no AC. Can’t believe it’s a 4*....powered milk in the room, cheap soap brands that weren’t even replenished and water left in the kettle.

Clean hotel, helpful staff despite corona regulations. Parking was unfortunately full and we used a public parking recommended by the Hotel. Our car had been openend overnight but fortunately we had nothing of values inside.

It is a very beautiful and clean hotel! Due to Covid, there is no breakfast buffet! However the stuff is doing it's most best to serve you for breakfast and delivers your wishes! Extremely polite, service is excellent and everyone is so helpful. I will stay there again when I come! location.

Bedroom and bathroom were recently renewed and in good order. Spacious and clean. Only one negative comment: the pillows were uncomfortable and far too soft. The stuffing of some of them had, frankly, collapsed inside. They need replacing. The hotel breakfast buffet was very good, and it was a nice touch to include this in the room rate. Location of the hotel is very good, right in the centre of Aachen but we had no noise disturbance.

This hotel is located directly in the City Centre! Everything is easy to find by walking. Nice cafes, restaurants and shops are very close by. The breakfast was nice—always fresh and ready.

The hotel is very clean, our room was quiet and spacious, and the staff friendly and helpful. The location in the hearty of Aachen is excellent. Parking under the hotel is convenient. We will definitely make this our first choice when returning to Aachen.

Overall speaking - very central and safe location. Breakfast was not bad. I arrived early and the staff quickly let me go to my room as it was already ready, this was extremely helpful. Things could be improved - cleanness of the washroom - one of the cup was not clean and there were a few hair in the shower.

The hotel and location was very good. The price advertised here said/says Breakfast Included. But when I checked in, I was told it was NOT included in the price. My family goes to Aachen now and then to visit my sister. When my family books at Mercure Au Dom and the booking price says Breakfast Included, it is included in the price and we don't pay. Because Mercure didn't have this option at this time, I tried Aquis because it was new to Expedia.
