“The White Horse was a beautiful place, very welcoming. The very clean 'chalets' were out the back of the hotel so you weren't disturbed by the road or the bar. The staff were just superb, always very helpful and courteous, nothing was ever to demanding. The breakfasts were outstanding. I fully recommend the full English! Will certainly stay there again if ever in that neck of the woods.”

“Had a great stay, had a lovely welcome, really comfy bed in a lovely cottage suite (room 11). Had everything you could need for a self catering stay. Breakfast was delicious with lots of choice. Car parking included was a bonus. Would highly recommend with only a 10 minute walk into the centre of Bury St Edmunds. Would definitely stay again”

“Just a short one night stay for our night before our flight out of Stansted. Great little find, just 30 mins from the airport but a lovely peaceful location. The host had left provisions for breakfast which was totally unexpected but made a real difference to our stay. Would recommend for for a short stay away from it all.”

“Vanessa and Steve were exceptional hosts and the facilities at “The Foxes Den” suited us perfectly. Everything was most satisfactory and we ended our stay with a delicious full English breakfast which kept us going for quite a while!!! We would recommend a stay there to everyone visiting the area for a peaceful and very comfortable night.”

“Very nice place to stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and clean. Food was excellent. It is in a good location for the centre town easily walkable. There is no parking but was able to drop the bags off. Car park nearby and reasonably priced (5minute walk back). Would definitely stay there again.”

“We have stayed at the Marlborough before on our travels in 2025 and when we retuned this year 2026 we wanted to stay again but longer this time. So glad we did everyone one was kind and friendly and new what they were doing. the pub itself and the rooms were excellent and vintage. The area of course is wonderful. All service, food and beverages top class. We plan on returning possibly next year and will likely stay even longer. Thank you.”
