Thank you for your feedback on your stay. Hotel San Juan is situated in the middle of a plantain farm on the shores of Lake Nicaragüa. Part of the appeal is the exuberant vegetation and animal life that surrounds us. Unfortunately it’s hard to seal 100% log cabins in front of the lake but we hope that the gorgeous view of our fresh water sea and the nice surrounding make up for it.

Thank you for your positive feedback on your stay. We do have taxi service available to our customers from the hotel. You can ask at reception to arrange for transportation at any time. Our unique location in the midst of a working farm does give us some seclusion along with the peace and charm of being away from noise and bustle of crowds but at the same time having available all creature comforts we have grown used to expect. You can relax on a hammock or take a nature walk along the beach among a number of other activities.

Hello Ann and thank you for your positive feedback. The geckos love it here where there is an abundance of food to keep them happy and well fed. It’s part of our exuberant tropical paradise and also part of what makes Ometepe so special, big frogs, holler monkeys, luscious vegetation and bugs. I would love to tell you we can fix it, but I would be lying to you… we learn to wear bug spray and embrace it as part of this unique ecosystem. Dear Denisse, we are very sorry you had a frustrating experience with the A/C let me assure you that our clients comfort is a priority and the problems with those AC units have been fixed! At Hotel San Juan Ometepe we do preventive maintenance and are on top of it basically daily. It’s part of being an oasis in the middle of a tropical forest. Every once in a while something happens and this time it happened to you. For that we sincerely apologize. We hope you enjoyed the free upgrade to our beautiful lake front cabins.

Estimada Anabel, nuestro hotel en el corazón de una plantación de plátano en las faldas del lago de Nicaragüa ofrece actividades en comunión con la naturaleza. Caminatas donde se pueden apreciar gran diversidad de aves, diversidad de vegetación y familias enteras de monos aulladores. Adicionalmente las vistas de los volcanes Concepción y Ometepe además de baños en las aguas del lago. Maravillosas noches de luna llena y cielos estrellados sin la polución de luces comunes en las ciudades. No ofrecemos televisiones en nuestras habitaciones pues nuestros clientes gustan de levantarse temprano para escalar volcanes o gozar de actividades matutinas. Somos un pequeño oasis en medio de un entorno tropical pero si tenemos wifi con el cual se pueden acceder a música y vídeos en sus computadoras o tabletas personales. Con respecto a los chayules, esos son parte de la ecología del lago de Nicaragüa y se pueden encontrar alrededor de toda la costa del lago en diferentes momentos especialmente al comienzo de la época lluviosa. La gran mayoría del tiempo no molestan. Pero son impredecibles. Para esas ocasiones en que están presentes contamos con un comedor climatizado con cedazos en las ventanas y abanicos. Lo mismo en las habitaciones. Espero que esta información le sea útil para el futuro y le ayude a darle otra oportunidad a nuestra bella isla. Saludos cordiales.

Our farm to market products such as our homemade cheese made every day and served to you with our complementary breakfast are second to none.
