Advertised to have airport shuttle but no driver both in night and morning. Not willing to reimburse for taxi. Desk stated hotel out of business end of month so some employees don’t care. Manager not available.

Our Shuttle service is available from 8am - 8pm. I would recommend that you check on the Schedule for shuttle service, other service items. Some things may not be 24 hours a day. I would call in advance to arrange these things.

Was nothing to like about the property. It was dirty, poorly staffed, and did not have amenities that we're both posted on the wall in the lobby and on the internet. The beds were disgusting and should have been replaced a decade ago, no toilet paper in the bathroom not even a holder,soap with shattered inside the packaging and unusable, the room stunk of mothballs, and the 24-hour supposed shuttle service to and from the airport was non-existent on our visit and we were forced to catch a cab both getting to the hotel from the airport and heading back to the airport. Absolutely never stay at this hotel again and I'm appalled at the conditions that we were forced to stay in

It is recommended that you contact Hotel management concerning your comments - You have made some comments that I would like to talk to you about, you have made yourself anonymous. With that I am unable to validate your concerns. You are never "forced" to stay anywhere that you do not want to.

We enjoyed our stay at The Long House Alaskan Hotel. Older facility but clean and comfortable. Staff very friendly and helpful. We had one minor problem but it was quickly addressed. We would definitely stat there again.

Very Nice, Nothing fancy just right!
This is a very nice place to stay. Nothing fancy, more of a hunters stay although as a single lady who was treated very special I loved it. A trip around the lake to watch the float planes take off, then to a clean room, with real hardwood floors. The place was very neat and clean. Only issue is it smelled like bleach but opened the windows for a few minutes and that was gone. I appreciate that it was clean. Bed was not new but it was fine for the night. Great coffee for this early riser. Made the start to my trip to AK wonderful with a informative ride back to the airport and a little history drive.

VERY VERY OLD AND TIRED HOTEL. NO ELEVATORS, NO AIR CONDITIONING( WHICH WASN'T HORRIBLE-BECAUSE IT IS ALASKA ), BUT THE WINDOW WERE BROKEN, MOST WERE STUCK OPEN, NONE OF THE HANDLES WORKED. I WOULD SUGGEST YOU PAY A BIT MORE AND STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE!

When making reservations you should request a ground floor room or inquire about elevators & A/C. These are not things that I advertise. Hotel Management is working on repaired the windows that out of square. We work very hard to keep our Hotel well maintained / in good condition. You should always report maintenance issues to the Office as we could have closed this window for you!

Quiet hotel for one night before heading to the airport. Not only did we get a shuttle to the airport, but the shuttle picked us up at the train station after our trip from Seward.

Pros- Bathroom was cleaned with lots of bleach. Room was huge Cons- Beds were old and lumpy. Toilet was loose from the floor. Dust in the corners and under the beds.

I didn't like shuttle service waited at airport for a hour. Room was ok nothing to write home about. While I was leaving the building I tripped on raise sidewalk not marked should have had a sign WATCH YOUR STEP . I fell into the parking lot hurting my knees and back House keeper saw me fall I am still hurting a week later.

We stayed in a room where the door did not lock. We couldn’t get it open either from the outside. No one warned us and when I went to the front desk for help she just told me to force it open. Breakfast was a little disappointing. Not many choices. The shuttle..ugh.. It’s a grey van with NO markings on to tell you who they are... which the staff know about.. Tried waving the driver down multiple times and was ignored. Called the hotel asking her to tell him our location and she didn’t help much...

We have recently purchased this can and have not put decals on it yet. We ask our guests to look for our grey / silver van with the hazard lights flashing when we arrive. Our Driver would not have ignored you: Must not have seen you. I will look into our door lock issue; these are new locks.

The room was very spacious and the two beds were really comfortable. We were happy with our stay. Breakfast was included in the price, however, there was almost nothing to eat. We got to breakfast at 8am and there was no coffee, barely some milk, the bagels were stale. We were able to make pancakes for the children, but there was no yogurts or any thing else.

The bad: old, dingy rooms. Subpar continental breakfast. Stiff squeaky beds and flat pillows The good: Our room had 2 king size beds. Free parking. Very very nice staff.

It's close to the airport, I guess?
The Wi-Fi didn't work at all. The front desk at night wasn't very friendly and he was pretty mechanical about the check-in process. The guy in the morning was pretty friendly and nice, though. Room wasn't what we expected based on the pics published. There was a bug in the bathroom and the room badly needs to be updated/revamped. It was just okay. Nothing special.

Don’t take your family or any seniors or children
Windows were stuck open, no screens, unsafe area. Anyone could have climbed in during the night. No step to get in their shuttle van, too high a step. No elevator, lots of stairs. Made reservation several months ahead and the type of room we selected wasn’t available. Free breakfast was minimal and shut down early. Unfriendly staff.

I'm very surprised to hear of this. We have a step stool in our van for anyone that needs help. We do not advertise an elevator in a 2 level Hotel. We are glad to offer assistance with luggage. Traveler Tip: If you need a ground floor room, please request it when making a reservation. Our staff has always been very friendly and breakfast is taken away on time - 9am.

Nice floors no dirty carpet But our keys wouldn't work so manager had to let us in. Not a problem cause we only slept here one day. Our room is being redone so no phone wifi or clock. Bed uncomfortable

Poor hotel do not stay there
The bed was hard,they did not clean our room in three days even though I complained. The windows were broken so you could not close and no window screens on them. My wife was bitten my mosquitoes. No toilet paper holder, no closet, no closet, no bedside tables or lamps. The only good thing was their internet and they did give free rides to the airport.

This property has a nice walk in cooler to store your fish and keep it frozen. The man that was at the front desk is very very rude. We were early for check- in by about 20 minutes and he proceeded to tell us that we had to come back in an hour and a half before we could check in when the check in time is 3:00 because our room was not ready and that check in didn't start till 3 or so.... He did however let us put the fish in the cooler so we didn't have to haul it around in the car. The gentleman that was there when we did come back to check in was helpful and the gal that was there in the morning was extremely pleasant especially at 3:30 in the morning!!!

Selena - Thank you for commenting on the staff. Sorry for the impression of being rude, I understand that no likes to be told that they will have to wait. It was simply that the room type you reserved was not ready for check in. As long as the room has been cleaned I always allow my guests to check right in.

Quaint and very rustic. Clean but sparsely furnished. No elevator, cheap furnishings and bedding. It was a rare hot day and no a/c. Staff was helpful. Not sufficient seating for continental breakfast. You could not get to office from your room without going outside.

Yes, we have had an amazing Hot summer this year! Our Hotel does have 3 seperate buildings. Not a long walk but yes you do have to walk down the sidewalk a few feet to get the the office!

HOTEL WINDOW DID NOT HAVE A MOSQUITO SCREEN! I checked with the front staff, and the employee was considerate and understanding. Why do some rooms have mosquito screens and some rooms don't? The front desk employee offered to give me a fan, but I made do with what I was given. I kept the window open with or without the screen.

As guests damage things in the Hotel; like window screens we replace them. We have not had a problem with mosquitos in or around the Hotel. Anchorage generally does not have many mosquitos unless you go into the wooded areas.

Neat hotel, lots of character! A bit on the older side, but clean. The room didn't have a/c but had floor fans. We opened the windows to allow fresh air and bugs got in because there were no window screens. We reserved one of the suites and it was very comfortable for a family of 4, but could have used a couple more towels (there were only 2 in the room). Location was great for us with the plane park so near by because we loved watching the planes come and go, though I imagine this could be bothersome to others.

Our flight was delayed and didn’t get to the hotel until late and the room I reserved they had given to another group.they wanted to down grade us but after much back and forth they gave us 2 rooms which was still only 2 beds vs 3 I reserved.
