My reservation was transferred to this hotel 1 day before my arrival in Athens, due to my original hotel cancelling and this one having availability. When reading the reviews online, I did panic however the hotel surprised me in some ways. The hotel is a ‘modern industrial’ style. I would probably never book somewhere like this to stay but I really loved how different it was to anywhere else that I’ve stayed. The staff were all really lovely, they gave us some good recommendations for thins to do and a map of the city. They also held our bags for us on our day of check out. Breakfast is good, there’s no hot food but what was on offer was good. There’s a pool table which was great to use on an evening, and a roof terrace with a jacuzzi. The main negative is the location. There are lots of homeless people and people on drugs around the hotel area which made it feel unsafe getting to and from the hotel. Though we felt perfectly fine when in the hotel. We ended up getting taxis when I was dark because it felt that unsafe. If this hotel could be picked up and put in another location, I’d give us 4 stars.

Upon checking in i was told i was upgraded to a larger room, however once inside the room i did think it was very small with no space to walk around the side of the bed. The staff at this hotel were all absolutely lovely and very helpful. I would like to mention that the breakfast served at this hotel was way below my expectations, the donuts were hard, the salad options were minimal and there was little to no variety in options for anything else.. i did expect some warm food options such as bacon / eggs / sausage or even some pastries, however there was none of these unfortunately. The location of the hotel itself is bang in the middle of a homeless area with many of them surrounding the hotel which doesn't feel too safe, especially when walking back to the hotel at night! Aside from that, the stay was fine however I doubt i would consider staying at this hotel again.

The rooms are super small and the street outside is very up and coming. At night the street below was very noisy. The bathroom did not have any windows so not great for any ventilation. The pillows were very large or quickly deflating to flat. The staff was extremely amazing and gave wonderful recommendations-- this was the highlight of this hotel.

Don't stay in Athens
The photos look great on the Hotels.com app. The hotel is good if you like noise and the elevator is very small. This hotel would work for maybe someone in their early 20's but it's not a place to relax and enjoy. The gym is not a gym by any means. The front desk staff is nice but they can only do so much. The hotel is located in an area close to many homeless and not-so-nice areas around. Athens is a very dirty city

We had a fantastic stay at Dave Red. We really enjoyed the hotel and the facilities. It’s a very unique hotel with a funky design theme. The roof top is a great escape in Athens. Front staff were also very welcoming and informative, thank you for all the suggestions. I would definitely return!

This property is super cool. The aesthetic is a vintage 1980s look, with a nod to the history of the building as the site of the Greek KKE (Greek Communist Party). Our room had a vinyl album player and a small selection of vinyl albums. The rooms are small but have everything you need, and for the reasonable price, it's worth it. Surrounding area has restaurants, shopping, some bakeries, and an easy (<5 minutes) walk to the metro. Highly recommended!

Great value hotel walking distance from the sights
This industrial-styled hotel has a really cool vibe, is a 20-30 min walk from the main sights of Athens, and is great value for money. The bed was comfy, if a bit of a weird circle shape rather than a normal bed. Free breakfast was perfectly adequate. Decent (small) gym. Cool seating areas and a pool table if you want to hang out in the evenings. All in all I would 100% recommend this hotel - especially for under-45s.

Really great stay in cool area for the price. A bit noisy at times and it's not a super tourist area which may be an issue for some people, but for me and my friends it was perfect! Walkable to loads of cool places and staff was always super helpful and friendly. Rooftop jacuzzi and access is really great view that allows you to take in the vastness of the city! Absolutely would stay again.

First impressions... the taxi driver told me the area was unsafe. That was a good start, but about the hotel.. Very warm welcome to this really unique and quirky hotel. Room was... interesting to say the least. Very close to the stairs and lift which wasn't great, try and get a room further away if you're a light sleeper. On my last night I found out there was a wild party somewhere in the building (on the roof?) which went on until after 4AM with banging bass. That's always fun when you've got a full day of meetings the next day and a flight home ! Would I recommend it? If you like quirky unique hotels, yes. It's comfortable and not a bad area to be in despite what the taxi driver said (just be sensible with your belongings). Just that nightclub...

The location is great; it’s fairly close to the Omonia metro stop as well as cafes, shops, etc. We felt very safe walking around the area. The staff was polite, both front desk and housekeeping. They accommodated watching our luggage before check in. The room itself (king bed) was small, but fine. The shower was great, both water temp and pressure. The bed was comfy. The only downside was the A/C unit didn’t seem to match the thermostat; it would take a while for the small room to cool off, but the room never got noticeably cold. It helped to open the window at night.

The location of the hotel is really good in my opinion however even thought there isa police station right across the hotel, there were people doing drugs on the street right behind the hotel. It is not the best thing to see but that's pretty much why the hotel is a bargain at this price point. There is only one - small elevator which is very inconvenient though the hotel was pretty empty during my visit so it wasn't that much of a problem.

This property is VERY unique. Housed in the former HQ of the Greek Communist Party, it has an industrial urban aesthetic which is very funky: bare concrete, metal partitions, wired glass bathrooms, etc. The staff is FANTASTIC and there is a nice bar/restaurant on the ground floor. There is always water and fruit available at reception. The area around the property, however, is "sketchy," full of homeless people, drug addicts (cooking their doses openly on the street), as well as prostitutes looking for Johns. The property is only one building from a main street (that does not have the characters listed above) and the main police station of the area is DIRECTLY across from the hotel, so actually it is possible to get to the property without anything happening.

Overall a great stay. Mostly lovely. The area is “up and coming” so any solo females stay aware at night. A little noisy and there are some hidden costs (the coffee pods are not free!) that aren’t flagged before. Definitely has potential to be a great little spot!

The hotel was comfortable and stylish. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Love the history of the old building. About a 20 minute walk to Monastiraki Sqaure near the Acropolis. Roof top area with a spa is a highlight of the building. Would stay here again.

Lots of amenities in hotel too - great rooftop with jacuzzi, games room, chess tables, hammock… so much more than what we expected. Super comfy beds too - best pillows we have ever had! Fabulous!
No doubt there are heaps of reviews about how cool and chic this place is -- definitely so! Love the design and the vibe. But it's also equally important to cover the basics, and Dave excels here, too. Immaculately clean room and bath, quiet, great A/C, crisp white linens, lush bath towels, complimentary robes, and some marvelous, surprising amenities for you to discover. Also, a good location near Omonia Square and its Metro station, in a building with an interesting history, being the former headquarters of the Greek communist party. Overall, a fantastic place to stay! (Oh, and did I mention the mood lighting?!)
