Au Train Stay
It was a lot of fun to get away before going back to work for the summer. As college students, the lady and I like to use trips like this to decompress after the semester. It was very close to a lot of nice trails and good food. Dead river falls were a favorite for sure.

Great cabin
It was such a nice little cabin, in a nice area. Loved how it was tucked in. Had a hard time finding it and the host was very helpful. Loved the decor, and it was exactly the kind of cabin feel we wanted. Very satisfied.

Girls Get Away
Perfect perfect perfect. It was what we needed to help relax and reset. Perfect for people who love being around nature. Not your typical big city attraction and it was nice to disconnect for a bit.

Wonderful place!
Great little cabin had everything we needed. Was far enough back from the road and surrounded with trees so felt very secluded. Our dogs were able to go outside without a leash. Great place to come back to each night.

We loved our stay at the cabin. It was nice and private and our dog loved the area to roam around on. Our favorite part about the cabin was the indoor fireplace! It made for a nice cozy atmosphere!

Great place to stay for hunting, hiking, etc
The cabin was perfect for our needs (hiking); loved the fireplace (just not a lot of fireplace tools or grate); kitchen was ok and clean (although fridge must have been defrosted prior to arrival bc there was a pool of water inside on bottom and a bit on the floor surrounding) - there was plenty of paper towels to help with clean up, though. Bed was super comfortable as were bed linens. Loved the screened in porch. Definitely would stay again!!!!

Met expectations! Great location, private, and pet friendly.
Checked all the boxes for us! We loved the location, close enough to plenty to do, but still quiet and private. We spent time in Au Train, Munising, and Marquette. Only my second time visiting the UP and a first for the rest of the family, and we had a great time. Host was responsive when needed. As some previous reviews mentioned, the hot water was extremely hot, and should be turned down. Most of the dishes we used needed to be washed first, but that's more on the other guests. The back room has a space heater; we unfortunately didn't realize that the first night, and our little one woke up pretty chilly, but otherwise the cabin was very comfortable and cozy.

Great get away
First off, this is an old log cabin. If you need smooth modern surfaces and straight lines this probably isn't the place for you. But if you want to stay in a clean, carefully restored cabin in a wooded area that is close to the river and all that Pictured Rocks has to offer this could be the place for you. We spent three nights in mid September and it was a very quiet and comfortable place to call home. We didn't use the fire pit but it looks like a good spot to sit and toast s'mores, and there was a good supply of firewood available for sale on site. A few warnings, these aren't deal breakers but thought I'd pass them on. The cottage has beds for four, I wouldn't go over that. The sofa is very soft and wouldn't be fun to spend the night on. The hot water is VERY hot, be careful if you have children. The shelf above the bed is a real head knocker, both of us hit our heads more than once. This didn't detract from our stay, we had a great time and are already talking about coming back in the summer for the canoeing and beaches.

Slice of Michigan paradise.
The cabin was its own little paradise. We really loved the screened in porch and outside fire pit. We felt like we had privacy yet a convenient location. It was a short 15 minute drive to Munising, and only an hour drive to Marquette. Check in and check out were a breeze and we had everything we needed available at the cabin. We would definitely stay here again!

Very nice cabin screened in porch was very nice . Overall enjoyed our stay . A couple notes ….the cabin was difficult to find and with no cell service this was even more difficult . I think a note about the driveway being right before au train kayak rentals would make it easier to find for future renters . Also only other negative was most of the dishes seemed to not be real clean found myself cleaning dishes before using them . With the being said the cabin was great . Very private and nice and close to hiking trails and kayaking . Close enough to town to enjoy eatting out but far enough away to enjoy the peace and quite . Plenty of room in the cabin and kitchen made it easy to cook food at home during our stay . All and all really enjoyed ourselves and would definitely come back .

UP getaway
We traveled 9 hours north to this cabin. It was worth the stay! Very reasonably priced. Only issue we had was there were big black ants roaming around. Didn't bother us, but didn't care for them. (We were in nature). Heather was VERY easy to get a hold of. She was super friendly and understandable with every question we had. Cabin would have been easy to find....if I looked on the other side of the road! Lol!! I would definitely book this cabin again if we go that far. Thank you, Heather for the hospitality!

Location was awesome being surrounded by trees and next to AuTrain lake and Lake Superior. We saw multiple deer in our yard almost every night. Everything worked in the cabin and was the perfect size for our 4 person family. Fire place was the best.

Snowmobile Trip
We rented the Au Train cabin for a family snowmobile trip and it worked perfect. The wood burning fireplace was great after a long day of riding. Heather was great to work with and went above and beyond to accommodate us.

Perfect!
I wanted to find a nice quiet cabin in the UP to get away for a weekend, and this was the perfect one! My partner and I, along with our 2 dogs loved the cabin and the privacy. The location was great as well as it is only a short drive to Munising and not far from Marquette either. It also had a cozy fireplace which we loved, and the area around the cabin was very nice for walks. I would love to come back and stay for another UP trip! I would recommend this cabin to anyone at any time of year!

Great Location - Awesome Fireplace
Everything was as described in there listing. Went up for a snowmobile weekend, and main trail is a mile from the cabin. You have to do some ditch and road driving to get there, but it wasn't bad at all. Nice cabin, fireplace was awesome at the end of a long day of riding. Gas station with a little grocery store in it on the way to the trail. Great restaurant about 6 miles away. Owners were awesome to communicate with.
