“Simple but clean and well-placed accommodations. One night stay during a road trip at OBX. Perfectly placed as a staging point for our next day's itinerary of visiting Hatteras and Ocracoke. Minimal kitchen supplies, but all we needed for reheating some leftovers. IT would have been difficult to cook "homemade" meals. Also, FYI the hot tub/pool facilities are at the main hotel about a mile away, not at the cottage itself. Not a problem for my trip, but may confuse others. ”

“Stayed here for a week with the the whole family (two kids under 10 and five adults). The house was exactly what we expected and great for our trip. We especially loved the location just down the street from the beach and sound. We made most of our own meals while staying, utilizing both the kitchen and the Blackstone (though my husband notes the attached side pieces on the grill get hot so he needed a side table for plates). “Overall we had a great stay. The house is older and has weathered some storms but is fairly nice and served us well. Be prepared for lots of steps, which I'm sure is the case in any large beach house. We had 2 toddlers under 2 so it was a challenge to keep them off the steps. The gate from the top deck to the outside stairs desperately need to be replaced and some of the older deck furniture needs to be replaced but overall things were in pretty good shape.
