"Beautiful on the lake"

"We just wrapped-up our week long family vacation at Jewel Lodge on Mantrap Lake. This home is a true jewel, as it addressed everything our large group needed for a fantastic week. The home is beautiful, extremely well equipped and easily accommodated a group of 18 people (8 kids under 11). John and Wendy are great hosts and were quick to answer any questions and assist with any needs the group had. Everyone had a great time and are already looking forward to next year's stay!"

"We chose this house for our family vacation because there were 16 of us and the house had 7 bedrooms and 4 baths. The bedrooms were a bit small and Spartan, but they worked for our family. I was a little leery about being within a block of downtown Walker, but that turned out to be a real plus, since people were able to walk to shop at fun stores, get Dairy Queen, and a grab some Starbucks coffee. The grandkids had a great time paddling the home’s kayaks, jumping on a Lily Pad that we brought, and inflatable rafts. I would have loved it if the kids were able to catch sunfish off the dock, but that was not the case. A final key point is that the Lake Life management is very competent if an issue arises. On the third morning of our stay, a major storm blew through that knocked down a huge pine tree on the lot, ripping down the power lines to the house. I immediately called the Lake Life office and talked to Christina about the situation. She got to work and had an electrician and tree service company on site by noon and power back on by 4:00 that afternoon. During the whole process, when I called the office, Christina answered. After the power was restored, we found that the internet router was fried. That evening, Christina and her husband stopped by and replaced/programmed a new router. Kudos to Christina.In summary our family had a wonderful time at the house and went home with lots of great memories and a few stories as well."

"Delightfully stay in a cool town"

"What a cozy, great place to stay. This was super close to where our family was staying. Wonderful to sit on little porch under overhang and enjoy the falling rain. Everything was there that was needed. Even chairs for the deck. All bedding was there. Beds were comfortable. And Lana (owner) messaged prior to our stay and for every question after she was immediately available. We felt safe and well taken care of."

"My family and I had a wonderful week long stay, the house was spacious, clean and inviting. We thoroughly enjoyed fishing, kayaking, boating, swimming, paddle boarding and floating on Lake Pickerel, along with great bonfires and making s’mores in the evening with a beautiful view of the lake. Being able to use all the paddle boards and Kayaks was amazing and so fun!! We rented their pontoon and had many hours of enjoyment fishing from it as well as swimming in the middle of the lake. On days that it rained, we played board games and cards for hours (thank you for the great variety of board games!!) - we were never bored. The kitchen was well stocked and we enjoyed cooking most of our meals but did enjoy a few delicious meals in Park Rapids! A huge thank you to our hosts for answering all our questions and giving us this amazing place to spend time with our kids- many great memories were created! It was a great week! Thank you also for your advice on walking paths, bike trails and pickle ball courts! I hardly wanted to leave, it was such a great week!!!! Thank you Pickerel Hideaway!!! "
