Benezette is the ”Elk Capital of Pennsylvania” and is located in the heart of the state’s wild elk herd, now numbering nearly 1,400 majestic animals. The best spot to start an elk viewing adventure is at the Elk Country Visitor Center on Winslow Hill (which is across the road from our property). The Mt. Zion Historical Park near Benezette is a beautiful and quiet place with an honor walkway and Civil War, Veterans, and Boy Scout memorials. The nearby Quehanna Wild Area features a spectacular White Birch grove in the Marion Brooks Natural Area. Most folks come here to just view the elk.
There are a few actual “viewing areas” where you can get out of your vehicle and view the elk and other wildlife within 3 miles of our property and all accessible by any licensed and insured motorized vehicle. There are many ATV, UTV, motorcycle, horseback, and hiking trails in the area. Many people bring their state road legal motorcycles and travel for miles just to enjoy the beautiful scenery around the area.
There are wineries and gift shops within a couple of miles. Fishing and hunting is great too. Many folks enjoy the local creek for swimming and it even has a rope swing. Bring kayaks and tubes for the local creek too if you want. If you are a lover of the outdoors then you want to be here.
The site is on a 2 acre lot with only one other RV on-site. 50amp electric service, sewer, and water hook up on site. Site can handle any size RV. If you have a friend or family that has a RV/tent that would have interest in staying when you do we do have another site with 50 amp electric and water connection. We only rent this out to your friends/family during your stay if interested. WiFi available. Cell service works with some carriers, but you can turn on WiFi calling on your phone if need be. Fire ring, picnic table, and garbage can on-site. Horses are welcome but must remain in trailer while on property. ATV/UTV can be legally driven from our property to township roads and trails as long as you have proper registration and insurance. Deer, elk, turkey, squirrels, rabbits, birds, and other animals are spotted on the property daily (don’t worry we have never seen a snake😀).
