2024 Eclipse Party
This was a perfect location for our family to gather and watch the 2024 Total Solar Eclipse. We had a wonderful time and the cabin was very clean, comfortable, and inviting!

Staying at Cardinal Cabin was a dream. It was cozy, clean and quiet. Google Maps took us to the wrong place, but there's a little wooden sign right by the correct driveway. Would love to go back in the fall!

Cardinal Cabin is beautiful and was perfect!

Wonderful Cabin
We had a wonderful time at Cardinal Cabin. The hot tub was clean and a great place to relax on the cool fall nights. We were comfortable and had everything we needed. Would definitely stay again. Lisa was even kind enough to let us extend our stay with short notice a few days before.

Cardinal vacation
We had a great time using the cabin as a base to explore the area. Felt remote but was close to a lot of activities. The hot tub was wonderful in the evening after hiking all day!

Great weekend getaway!
Perfect size for a ladies weekend getaway! This is our second stay and we had a great time again! The kitchen is well stocked for all your cooking needs. The grill was excellent. The hot tub is always a favorite! We were a little disappointed in that some of the kitchen items were dirty and the fridge had a bit of a smell to it. Also, we could've used a few more towels and wash cloths. We supplemented with hand towels and hot tub towels and did a load of laundry so that supplemented our needs. Having several ladies in the cabin, we could've used a roll or two more toilet paper. Also, the remote control was on the Fritz and we had issues with it last year so maybe look into replacing it at least leaving a spare set of batteries just in case. Other than that, the cabin is nicely furnished and nestled in a quiet corner. Perfect for a weekend stay!

This was a comfy, CLEAN cabin that was just what we needed. The hot tub was amazing and the cabin was just secluded enough to be the peaceful, relaxing get away we needed to recharge and rejuvenate.

Spring Break
The cardinal cabin was just whet we needed as a family to just relax. It was a damp few days so we didn't get out much but that was ok. We wanted to relax and thats what we did. The cabin felt homey with the fireplace and one TV, which made the kids have to actually be around us, lol. The beds were comfortable, kitchen fully stocked, bathroom were great and overall we would book this cabin again! Lisa was great.

We had an awsome weekend ,will definitely consider coming back . Only 2 miles to the nearest boat ramp which worked out great for us considering the fact we were on an off the water often throughout the weekend

Beautiful restful relaxing cabin retreat
Our stay here was fabulous. We enjoyed relaxing in the evenings and watching the wildlife on the front porch. We saw deer, turkeys, rabbits, and a turtle. All from the front porch! We ate all our meals on the screened in back porch and unwound in the beautiful hot tub each night. The beds were very comfortable and we had lots of space in the living room. Our host thought of everything. This was our second visit here. We are looking forward to coming back.

Clean - Quiet - Comfort!
Not often do you enter a cabin where you immediately feel at home. Cardinal was that cabin. My family repeated many times, "what a great place to stay"! Super comfortable furniture and the bed in the main bedroom is one to melt into. From the huge hot tub to the warm, inviting fire pit, we enjoyed it all. Felt a few raindrops but in between, make sure you head down to Hemlock Cliffs and up to French Lick. Totally worth the trip! Coming back to Cardinal was just like coming home. Treat yourself! Enjoy!

The listing about the bedrooms was not upfront, was listed as at least two but only had one. Different pictures were taken with different sheets making it appear like their were two bedrooms. I really had to do some digging to find out last minute that they considered a corner in the living room a “bedroom” so I do not think that is right.

Pat, I apologize for the confusion. I too had trouble when listing these over a year ago. They ask about sleeping accomodations. . I show the loft as a bedroom with the 5 twins 2 being trundles that I try to show in pics. I am sure it says that there is a sofa sleeper as well. The pics were just updated with newer bedding or seasonal comforters.. I was in no way trying to be deceptive about what the sleeping arrangements were I assure you. I will try to go back in and see if there is an update to make on vrbo to try to make this clearer. I did have the extra bedding sign in extra closet but it got misplaced so I also will be sure to replace that. I appreciate your honest review. I appreciate you staying as well and hope that you enjoyed the stay regardless. Thank you

The cabin was clean and had lots of extra linens. It is close to restaurants and the park entrance but still provides privacy and feels secluded. The driveway is tight if you have a large truck.

Best of cabin life!
The cabin is beautifully decorated, kitchen is well stocked, beds and furniture super comfortable and the location is so close to Patoka Lake yet has a lovely country setting. Our family enjoyed meals on the screened back porch, relaxing around the fire pit and soaks in the hot tub. What great memories we made!

Great Wooded Cabin Near Patoka Lake State Park

Our 2nd time
This was our second time staying at Cardinal Cabin. It’s the perfect getaway with family and friends. We had 4 adults and 4 children and had plenty of space. Just minutes from Patoka Marina and winery, which is wonderful! Cabin was neat, organized, very clean and stocked with everything you possibly need. We plan to return again next summer.
