We stayed at La Bergerie, Bonnieux during the last 2 weeks of June 2017. We were 8 adults. Myself, wife, 2 daughters and 4 friends. The property is situated at the end of long track off the ‘Route du Pont Julien’ and, although it is in a secluded and peaceful location, is still only 7 or 8 minutes drive from Bonnieux or, a lovely 40 minute walk up footpaths to the beautiful hilltop town.
The house consists of 2 different buildings, one traditional Provencal style cottage containing bedrooms and bathrooms and a new contemporary glass structure used as a living space. This room has the potential to open up on three sides with the floor to ceiling sliding glass doors or remain closed and cool with efficient air conditioning. A/C features in the kitchen and upstairs bedrooms too. The two buildings are linked by an attractive and well-equipped kitchen and utility room.
The exterior spaces are great for dining and the pool is a good size with decking for sunbathing and the occasional game of Ping-Pong. The pool depth is all one level so perfect for adults and confident swimmers but maybe not so good for unaccompanied small children.
We have been visiting the Luberon for 10 years and have rented many properties, this house definitely met with our particular requirements and taste. Highly recommended.
