I really enjoyed staying here. Although it’s an older building with old fashion furniture, there was so much room. It was the first spacious place I stayed at. Bathroom was nice and having an in-suite laundry and dryer really did it for me. The are felt safe and is very walkable. You have everything from bars to restaurants to shopping to groceries. The only thing I would say is that if you’re into clubbing, you’re about 15min drive from the action so if that’s your thing, keep this in mind. Staff was very lovely and gave great suggestions. I would recommend this place. My only “complaint” would be that the iron board looked old and stained but to combat this, I just put a towel down and the ironed by clothes.

We loved the Royal Albert. It’s so well located in the centre of Brisbane & right next to Queen St Mall. Large rooms, with all the amenities (like housekeeping & room service) of a good hotel but also the convenience of being like an apartment, with a little kitchen and a washer and dryer. The only criticism is the shower doesn’t get super hot, but that’s not a huge problem in such a warm location.

Our room was large. The kitchen was not functional because there were no pots and pans, no dinner plates, no toaster or water cooker. I had thought there would be a dish towel and dishwashing liquid, but there was not. For a 3-night stay, I had not planned to purchase these items. The rain shower head in the shower had such low water pressure that it was difficult to rinse the soap and shampoo. We appreciated having a washer and dryer but were not prepared to purchase laundry soap. The reception staff were helpful in ordering taxis for us and we thank them for that. We needed them to get to our medical and surgery appointments.

Stayed in the Sub Penthouse. Bathroom door handle was missing and covered in black electrical tape. Door would not close or lock. Front desk told us to park across the street to validate. Good location ... that's about it. Hotel is not in very good condition, WIFI is the slowest i have seen in a while (often no connection available at all -> which was the case in most places of the hotel). Room service was very poor (i think they were in there for like 1-2min to empty the bins, but that was about it), dusty place. There were also extra charges for AMEX, which they did not inform me about (i know it's a small issue, but i personally think it should be mentioned) I will not be staying there anymore...

The property is in a great location with plenty of shopping and dining options. However, the property needs a refurbishment. The pillows provided were flat and less than ideal. The air-conditioning is less than ideal. The bed in the second bedroom is only fit for a child.

I stayed in a Deluxe Room, which I believe most people would consider a bit outdated - but it was a large space, and quiet despite being on the second floor overlooking the street. Comfortable bed, good shower, quiet a/c. Well equipped kitchenette. Friendly and helpful staff. The only downsides were no power socket by the bed (the cable for the bedside light comes directly out of the wall!), and the entrance and shower room were on a different level from the rest of the room - it’s necessary to go up and down four steps to go between the two parts of the room. Note that the room description on Expedia says there is a “Safe” in the room, but this is a lie - there is no safe. The hotel really should remove the “Safe” item from the room description of all room types that don’t have one actually in the room. I have rated the hotel “Poor” (4/10) for communication for this reason.

We have stayed at RA quite a few times and always like the character of the building and spacious rooms. The room we were given this time was really nice and my wife went "Oh wow" - unfortunately as I walked into the centre of the room a drip of water landed on my head...there was a leak in the ceiling. We informed the reception staff and they immediately apologised and said they would get it fixed or change our room which they in fact had to do. The other room was nice but my wife liked the other better. Due to the "unscripted" change there were a few minor omissions such as hand towels and an airconditioner that needed to be reset. As usual these were done promptly and with smiles. Quality is when there is an issue and it is fixed. RA staff do this well. we are looking forward to our next visit. My wife hopes we get the original room!

I had the worst experience staying in this property, 1, Booking this property, there was no mention of paying Bond deposit, so I completed my reservation and all payment fully made. The property reception called me and I advised them that on my arrival time. I called them about 15mins to my arrival, to arrange for parking,,They had called me of their limited car parking space, I had to leave

Excellent location is the CBD. Plenty of restaurants and shopping around, easy to navigate around the area. If I did have a complaint it was the construction in front which made it difficult to get picked up and dropped off, but that’s a minor inconvenience and loved everything about the area and hotel would definitely book again.

Great property in a great location. For the moment access is compromised by infrastructure updates - but this will not go on for long. Rooms were a great size with fixtures and fittings more toward the faded grandeur than contemporary. Highly recommended.
