"I hate leaving negative info but for the benefit of future travelers, I have to be honest about a few items with this property: 1. It was absolutely buzzing with flies inside. "The last time i was at this property was nearly 15 years ago. It is still clean and well kept. The room we had was a bit small but ok for us. You could call them and request a larger room after the initial reservation. There is a nice breakfast available for 18 CHF but the regular restaurant wasn’t open at this time. There were lots of other restaurants within a few blocks walk.I was here before in winter and was kept warm. This time was summer and there is no air conditioning. There is a fan in every room and the windows open so cool air is available at night. I would stay again!"

"Great location in the old city, especially if you enjoy hearing church bells! Adjacent bar/restaurant with terrace was good. Many dining choices within a short walk. Busses every few minutes to train station & other locations. Beautiful old building has been updated to modern standards — good mix of old & new. No air-conditioning, but OK with fan. Lovely breakfast with choice of indoor or outdoor seating. Nicely appointed room, with bidet, but the shower in the tub (room 117) was difficult for someone without good balance."

The breakfast and restaurant were lovely, the staff were very friendly, and the grounds were STUNNING. I couldn't believe how beautiful it was to sit at the restaurant and to be outside - the flowers, the views, the touches. Absolutely loved it! My only disappointment was that we were there for our honeymoon, and even after contacting them before, the hotel didn't acknowledge that in any way. Overall, would recommend it to someone wanting a special "off the beaten path" stay."
