There were multiple minor problems with the room, which apparently could not be fixed until the next day. In a three night stay this is not really acceptable - especially as these issues should have been routinely checked and so sorted fixed prior to our arrival. For example, the bulb in the toilet did not work so made it impossible to use in the dark; the bath plug did not work properly and it was hard to fill the bath as water was running awayas fast as it was coming out of the tap; some of the electrical sockets were very difficult to use - we should not have to get down on hands and knees and force the plug in! Although we had a king-size bed, the duvet was only double size, so was much too small for the bed - why? This really compromised a good night's sleep. The breakfast room toaster did not toast the bread - even after four passes through the machine, the bread was only warm and not really brown! Staff did not seem at all interested in fixing this.
However, the biggest issue was the unhelpfulness and unfriendliness of the reception staff who seem to think that guests are a nuisance.
