We are glad you like the room, Joan. With a bit of additional research, you could surely find a way to book a reservation with breakfast included. The time slot approach allows us to offer our famous delicious custom-crafted breakfasts to our guests in a relaxed enjoyable atmosphere.

Expedia offers our check-in information and location details (including a map) so prospective guests can make an informed booking decision at the time of making an online reservation. Bed/pillow firmness is definitely an individual preference, and many of our guests found this particular bed extremely comfortable. We feel that several points in this review lack merit and would like to address them. As one can see from our various online reviews, our unique ambiance appeals to happy guests with positive attitudes. Common areas (greatly enjoyed by most of our guests) include the living room, two breakfast rooms, porch with rocking chairs and a colorful garden graced with adirondack chairs. It is unclear what part of these amenities came across to this traveler as “not cozy”. “Austere” is a strange description for one of a kind local art work, exquisite antiques and whimsical lighting fixtures, all enhanced by warm colors inspired by fall foliage. If a guest lacks the initiative to start a conversation with others, our furniture arrangement won't change that. Good planners research their destination and can easily learn that we are located in the heart of a high demand destination, walking distance to shops, restaurants and cultural attractions. The village is what it is. There are many attractions that draw travelers from afar to enjoy its charms. Clearly something appealed to this traveler. Pillow firmness is a personal preference, and particular guests are welcome to bring their own. When guests book, they agree to the pricing prior to purchase. There are ways to enjoy lower prices, but booking very close to the travel date during high season is not one of them. Not sure what was expected in this case, but there is something out there for everyone. Here’s to more happy guests!
