Large Log Cabin On 12 Private Acres With Fishing Pond Near Mohican State Park


Hidden on 12 acres in the heart of Mohican Country, this beautiful log home is the perfect getaway for those who are looking to relax in the country and visit Mohican Park, Malabar Farm, Amish Country or Snow Trails Ski Resort. With 12 acres, you'll find peace and quiet as well as plenty of room to run. The large stock pond offers a pedal boat as well as easy fishing with no license required! The cabin itself has over 2000 sq ft of finished living area (not counting an unfinished basement) with 5 private bedrooms with queen beds, 3 baths, a huge great room with a magnificent floor to ceiling stone fireplace and 60" flatscreen TV, a fully equipped kitchen, dining area, loft area and game room in the basement with pool table and bar. There are two sofas in the living room. There is a daybed with trundle in the loft (we count as the 6th bedroom). A queen bed and twin over twin bunk bed are also in the basement bedroom. There is a pool table and a bar also in the basement. The 40ft front porch has swings and rockers and offers beautiful views of the property, pond and rolling country hills. Looking for a great place for an outdoor wedding, family reunion or other party? The lodge offers acres of green area around the pond that is perfect for tents and tables. Plus long driveway with a turn-around and a hayfield allows plenty of parkingWifi is available and there is also a generator in case of power outages. Best of all, the cabin is located within 10 miles Malabar Farm, Mohican State Park, Local Canoe Liveries, Prairie Peddler and Pleasant Hill Lake.

We absolutely loved this property. It had everything we wanted and needed to make the weekend relaxing. The host was very communicative and friendly and their daughter even made us cookies upon our arrival. Great hosts and great property. Would highly recommend and I will.

Our host was very responsive to questions and requests that we made. As for the fishing, I can’t say that I caught a lot of bass, but I did catch one that was 3 pounds, 18 inches using a spinner bait. The home was very comfortable for all of us. We would gladly return for another stay at this great property.

Beautiful Scenic Cabin with Family Friendly Fun!

The Cabin is spacious and well stocked, as is the pond! Bonfires and s’mores, bass and sunfish, pool table and games, the fun never ends! With the ability to bring our dogs, it opens up a chance for everyone to come visit! The owner and his family are wonderful to work with and even offer goodies, which are delicious and well priced!

Annual MLK weekend getaway.

We stayed at this cabin last year, and the kids wanted to go back. There was plenty of room for 3 families and me, Grandma. The kitchen was large and fully equiped as we took turns cooking meals.

Birthday Weekend Getaway

We spent three nights at the cabin and had a great time. It snowed on one of the days we were there and we had such a great view from the front porch watching the snow come down. We also enjoyed a nice walk on the property trudging through the snow.Thank you Shane for sharing your cabin!

Great Rental for Girls Weekend

The cabin is spacious with lots of room for a girls weekend. The property is large and allowed us to sit outside by the fire late at night without worrying that we were keeping the neighbors up.

We had a fabulous time at Babble Brook! It was an amazing family stay with our adult 4 kids, their spouses and our 5 grandchildren! Everyone had a great time, even the family pups! We will definitely stay again! This place is a little piece of heaven! We loved it!

Nice getaway

The property was remote and spacious. Loved the location. It would have been helpful to know we needed to purchase wood on the property if we wanted to have an indoor fire so we could have brought cash or check but we made it work. Thanks for a wonderful place to get away to

Large cabin with lots of room for a large family. Pool table in the basement was great. We enjoyed the front porch and fishing in the pond. Unfortunately our stay was cut short due to my father not feeling well.

Winter Wonderland

My friends and I stayed here in December. Place was incredible! So much room and it snowed the whole time, so it was so pretty! In addition, when we locked the bedroom door behind us on accident, the owner went out of his way to let us back in in a timely manner. Absolutely recommend!

Relaxing Rustic Retreat

From rocking out on the porch to catch-and-release fishing, the cabin never fails to entertain my family! We love the opportunity to grill out, hang by the fire pit and make s’mores. Puzzles and games, as well as the closet full of surprise toys, bring the kid out in all of us! Such a wonderful place for families and friends!

60th Birthday Celebration

We recently stayed at the Lodge to celebrate our friends 60th Birthday and we were not disappointed! The accommodations were better than advertised and the host was easy to work with. The property has a pond on site and the bass fishing was great. Deer Ridge golf course is also close by and is a fun and challenging course to play. We look forward to going back again soon!

Great place for making memories

Our family spent two evenings here in early July and it did not disappoint. There were 13 of us in total and there was room for everyone, including our dogs. The fishing was great, the fire pit was perfect and the kitchen had everything we needed (including coffee pot filters, paper towels, dishwasher soap, etc). Everyone had a great time and enjoyed Gatton Rock just over 10 minutes away for swimming. Shane was very responsive and we are already looking at when to book for next year!
