We love this place! The view from your breakfast table of the lake can't be beat. Lots of interesting birds. Saw 2 lifers just sitting on our back patio.

Quite and very peaceful Hotel. The perfect place to get in touch with nature and ground. The rooms are very spacious, clean and comfortable with cable Tv. (in case that matters to you). Oh and you really don’t need a/c here in case you worry as I did. I actually had to turned off the ceiling fan because the nice cool temperature at night. The staff was super nice from check in to check out. However, I will recommend to arrive before the sun sets if you are planning on having diner as their restaurant closes at 7:00 pm. and there aren’t many choices around the area. Breakfast in the morning with the lake view was so good, I got the “desayuno típico” but they also have a couple other options. We will definitely stay here again!

This was just a stop over for us. Room was spacious and very clean. Little kitchen area was a bonus. We ate dinner at the restaurant and the food was awful. Everything was over cooked and microwaved, including the white rice. So bad, we didn’t even stay for the free breakfast. But otherwise a beautiful quick place to lay our heads.

The property, hotel and restaurant was amazing. The staff was pertcfect. The Turkish watch was not working and there was not a pool but other than that, amazing. The food was extremely good and would rival any 5 start restaurant.

The lake's view from the restaurant at breakfast time is unique in the area. Also you can easily watch and hear birds on the property. A very nice get away option near San Jose to stay and enjoy the valley.

The hotel has very comfortable beds, spacious rooms, air conditioning and ceiling fans. The property is surrounded with coffee plantations and has a great view of the lagoon. Breakfast is good with a couple of options to choose from. Service is a little bit slow at the restaurant but there is no big deal if you are on vacations.

Great place!
The place was peaceful, beautiful location! The lake the flowers the mountains were all amazing! The room was large and well decorated! Bathroom was Hugh along with a large bar area! Great food in the restaurant!

Great stay at La Casona del Cafetal
Very clean, comfortable and beautiful property. Dinner was delicious, the scenery was amazing. Bird watching was great. I'd stay here again.

Great location and beautiful property. The rooms are very spacious and modern. Newly built. Great restaurant on site and you are staying at a coffee plantation. Great coffee too! The staff was extremely helpful and friendly.

The bungalow/room was spacious and clean but separated from the main restaurant. We were the only guests on the property and felt isolated. There was security and adequate lighting. The best part was the meal! Gourmet level dinner and kind staff.

One f the most Beautiful areas of the world. Almost secluded. Very nice rooms available. Very nice staff. Beautiful view of the lake from the restaraunt. Excellent Coffee from the Coffee Plantation you are sleeping on.

Beautiful place. We came late (9pm) and all restaurants were closed. We wished so badly that there were some fruit or nuts on the room. No such luck. Bring snacks if you expect to arrive late, or eat on the way.

Do not pass up this gem
Less than 2 hours from San Jose, the Orosi valley is a world away from the noise and traffic. And this is the place to stay in comfort while you explore the area. Rooms so comfortable that you wouldn't mind just relaxing in them. Excellent food to fuel you for exploring.

This location was perfect for us as we drove across from West to East. It broke the trip into 2 manageable days. The property sits right on the lake and offers wonderful views from the restaurant. The staff is attentive and very helpful. Loved it.

We liked the location by the lake, the pathway to the lake, the staff and the food was excellent. We had comfy beds and a quiet environment. We would definively recommend it!

Wonderful place to relax.
Very well kept room with small kitchen area. Huge bathroom and shower. Pleasant outside patio. The Sunday brunch was delicious. A beautiful lake view from the restaurant. The staff were very helpful and accommodating.

Casona del Cafetal, unique place to stay
This is a very unique place to stay. The rooms are literally inside a coffee plantation. Spectacular nature, trees, flowers and beautiful birds. The restaurant is great and the breakfast in the morning looking across the lake was very good. Great coffee, of course.

It is literally a paradise
The hacienda is perfectly located and it is armoniosamente surrounded with the beauty of the Costa Rica. Amazing experience,drinking a cup of coffee With the esplendor of the lake, it is unforgettable, thank you, To the crew and the employees, thank you. We will go back again If you are looking for quiet and pacific retired place in Costa Rica, it is the place. Just ,consider that it is a little far from the beaches And from the thermals spring waters , ah last recommendation, rent a SUV to get there.

Gorgeous Getaway!
Beautiful facility and outstanding service. This was an ideal relaxation spot for us. Unfortunately the gorgeous lake is still recovering from previous pollution issues and there is no fishing. A minor inconvenience, but we will look forward to coming back when the lake is back to balance.

Hotel was closed by the time we arrived
We booked same day, did not called for confirmation because the systems indicates it is not necessary. My wife and I arrived late that night... the hotel was closed!!! Nobody was there to open the gates, no one answered the phone until next day in the morning and they said hotel closes after 8:00pm. I can not tell anything about the hotel but service it is just terrible!

Mountain Stay on a Coffee Plantation
Stunning area in the mountains with a mind blowing amount of bird life, right in the middle of a coffee plantation. The restaurant on site is stellar and the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. A great place to stay if you want to be away from San Jose or maybe as a halfway stopover point between coasts (which is what we did). The mountains are incredibly beautiful in this part of the country.
