- Disliked: Amenities
We stayed in the Grizzly Unit at the Lodges of Canmore (LOC). Upon arriving, our room was still not clean, the front staff were not very accommodating towards questions, there was no hand sanitizer, and when I inquired about the pool, I was informed that it was closed and there was no expected date of opening that they were aware of. I informed that prior to booking, this information should have been available on their website as other hotels etc had indicated. I informed, I selected the LOC based on the premise that the pool was open. When the room was ready, I received the card keys and was very “loosely” directed to the parking garage. The card keys however were not coded properly, so I had to go back once again to the front desk. The cards were reprogrammed and I got into the parkade. The parkade itself was confusing, no signage for the elevator. Upon entering the building, no hand sanitizer was available in the common spaces. It was also very dim. The room itself was very nice and clean with a great patio and bbq, but no air conditioning. I did not once see any employee come by the buildings to wipe down high touch surfaces. No sanitizer was made available. The location wasn’t bad, but not central like other hotels such as the Malcolm as an example. The bed was quite large and very comfortable. The pull out couch could probably be replaced as the cushions were all ripped up. Overall, not bad for the price.
