Spent little time in the hotels as was always out and about. However, rooms are clean, spacious and comfortable. Easy access to the beach which is less than 200 meters away

Really nice hotel close to Hout Bay beac.
Lovely room in hotel with balcony overlooking harbour and waterfront restaurant. The owners of the premises could not be more friendly or helpful. They were brilliant as was the restaurant chef and the cleaner. Brilliant. Bay was beautiful as was Hout Bay. The only thing that was wrong was very high winds blew sand all over the roads.

Stayed here while on a business trip to Hout Bay. Excellent comfortable accommodation. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Will stay here again and would recommend it for anyone wishing to stay in Hout Bay area for business or holidays. Self catering and family rooms available for those who need them.

Lovely Lodge!
We had a wonderful stay at the Seacliffe Lodge! The attentiveness of the staff at breakfast was superb. The cook is delightful and Suegne is very pleasant and personable. We plan on going back to South Africa and we would definitely stay here. It's a small, quaint lodge that is a great value for your $$. We stayed here the entire 12 days we were there. It's in close proximity to Cape Town and tourist attractions. I highly recommend staying here!

Disappointing location
Our experience in thishotel was not good. On arrival at the hotel we were welcomed by a maid who took us to our room, the room was a standard room without a balcony, even though we had booked a sea view room with a balcony. I complained that we had been put in the incorrect room at which point we were given the 'seaview' room. The sea view room overlooked a number of industrial metal buildings. Between the hotel and these building is a very busy road which meant the 'sea view' room was very noisy. The view was not a 'sea view', it was of a working fishing dock. The room itself was clean and well presented but the external balcony was very dirty covered in green mould. The hotel wi-fi could not be used in our room and I had to sit in a communial area to achieve a connection. The breakfast was good quality and plentiful. The owner of the hotel ingnored us during our stay and left the hotel maid to deal with us.

Close to beach and good seafood restaurant
We had a great trip to Cape Town and it was nice to stay outside of the city near the coast with good access to Table Mountain, Kirstenbosch, Chapman's Peak, Cape Point,Constantia Valley and Stellenbosch. Our lodgings were comfortable clean and inviting, breakfast made to order and a good start to the day. Our needs and requests were promptly met and we were given helpful advice. Seafood restaurant opposite; very good and provided us with our evening meal within walking distance (2 minutes) and allowed us both to have a glass of wine. Car necessary for trips as transport links are limited

Owners very friendly and helpful. Beautiful view onto beach and mountain and harbour. Clean and comfortable bed and room, wrong day to visit as factory busy milling fish.Unfortunately no aircon and could not open windows due to bad smell which left the room without air.

Great place, value for momey
not a problem at all with the Lodge. Only issue I had was that there was no aircon in the room and there should have at least been a fan. There is nothing to do in Hout Bay, but that is no fault of the Lodge's.

Perfect for a short stay near Hout Bay
I visited South Africa for a business trip, and had an extra day to do an outing. I decided on a seal snorkeling trip at Hout Bay. I picked Seacliffe Lodge because I didn't have transportation and the hotel is an easy walk to the boats at Hout Bay. What's good about this hotel? It's homey and welcoming, with the owner giving me personal attention. It had a nice sherry that was complimentary in my room, which I tried. And breakfast was wonderful. The chef, whose name I can't remember right now, custom-made me a scrumptious egg white omelette, along with some sliced fruit and a few delicious sausages. During breakfast, he extolled on the virtues of South Africa. What a wonderful meal! What's not as good about this hotel? My room didn't have air conditioning, as far as I could tell. So, in bad weather, I don't know that this room would have been comfortable. Also, it's only a good location if you want to go to Hout Bay. Otherwise, it can be a bit out of the way for visiting stuff in Cape Town.

Fantastic service, safe and cozy!
Apart from being a bit far from where is all happens this was an amazing lodge to stay at! We got to use the kitchen for cooking, the breakfast was amazing and to our preference every time, even when we had to leave super early or forgot to get up in the morning :) The bed was comfy, bathrooms huge. Over all a great experience! Ill stay there again if I go back! Tip! Rent a car if you are staying here, taxis are unreliable and public transport not too good.

OK. But we've been to much better
The hotel was ok and with nice rooms, but nothing too special. However, we stayed in many B&Bs in South Africa, and this was the one where we least felt welcome, mainly due to the owners' attitude. Would not be coming back.

Great hotel, friendly, excellent service
We had a fantastic stay at Seacliffe Lodge. The hotel was lovely, our room was large, bright and clean with a great view over the harbour. Everyone at the hotel was friendly and extremely helpful whenever we had any questions. Hout Bay is a good location for exploring the peninsula, it is easy to get to from the airport and only 20 mins drive from the waterfront, Clifton, Camps Bay and Table Mountain. To the south is Chapman's Peak Drive which takes you down the peninsula towards Cape Point. We will definitely stay at Seacliffe Lodge next time we are in Cape Town!

Easy Overnight in Hout Bay
This is a simple and straightforward guest house in Hout Bay. The decor is a bit dated but I had a huge sea-facing room, a solid internet connection, and an enormous bathroom. You can walk a few hundred meters to the best seafood in town. Quite a reasonable package all-in-all.

Great family stay
The Seacliffe Lodge is a warm and friendly place. The rooms, comfortable, clean and well equipped and some nice personal touches. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful. The location is perfect for a short stroll to the beach and in good reach of shops and good range of restaurants. We were traveling with a toddler on our first family holiday abroad and felt safe, relaxed and welcome.

Good service
I stayed 2 nights at the beginning of my South Africa trip. Arranged for Tom to meet me at the airport which he willingly did even though I arrived at 06:15. The hotel is very close to the bus stop for the company that does the double decker bus tours of Cape Town, and I bought a 2 day pass which worked well - however the bus only does a circular tour so the journey takes half an hour to go in to Cape Town, and 90 mins to come back - however the tour is interesting. I found Hout Bay a nice quiet location, though personally I would not rush back to restaurant on the sea front, the ones in the village were much better value & quality. The hotel was fine. I subsequently stayed in nicer ones, but these were a long way from Cape Town and I think you get much better value out of the city. I would recommend this for a Cape Town hotel

Comfortable and good value
We stayed at one of the self catering apartment, Dolphin, which is actually a one-bedroom apartment with living room, dining area and a full kitchen. The location is not close to downtown or the airport, however, it is at the end of the Blue Line of the Hop On Hop Off bus in Hout Bay. By taking the Hop On and Hop Off bus, we were able to get to know the complete surrounding areas of Cape Town. When we missed the last Blue Line bus, we were able to take the local bus back to the hotel. The hotel owner, Tom, is very helpful during our stay. We will definitely come back again.

Self catering cottage but lovely
I was given a lovely one bedroom flat with parking just outside the door. No view to speak of because of the location of the cottage but as soon as you walked out you were 50m from the loveliest fisjing harbour and beach you could imagine with mountains all around you and seals swimming in the harbour. I loved it. A little awy from the shops but I felt safe not sure I would walk about by myself at night though. Overall a lovely place and lovely accommodation and people that run it. Thanks

Seacliffe Lodge, Hout Bay - good value & short walk from beach
We stayed in apartment 2 (Dolphin) for 10 days in April. Very large apartment (in contrast to apartment 1, which is really small; friends stayed there for a few days at the beginning of our stay) - comprisiing of kitchen with lots of cupboard space and counters, a good sized living room with tv (a radio would have been good), a massive bedroom with fitted wardrobes and a large bathroom with bath, shower and double sink. A maid visited each day around 11am to clean the apartment, wash any dishes & to change towels & bed linen. Disappointed that there wasn't any tourist information/leaflets in the apartment, nor was there a guest book - washing liquid, tea, coffee & sugar would have been good as well. Although a heated swimming pool was advertised, it was not mentioned whether this was just available to hotel guests or to apartment guests as well. Good value & close to beach & some restaurants but we would look to stay somewhere with a sea view next time we visit Cape Town. Cape Town is a beautiful place, particularly recommend Cape Point, Table Mountain, penguins at Simon's Town & Camps Bay.

SeaCliffe Lodge 3 star family suite.
We stayed in the family suite behind the lodge in another building. This was a self catering suite that was much cheaper than the regular lodge but did not include air or access to Wifi. We were able to access the Wifi if we walked down to the main building but not from our room. The proprietors were fantastic and were always willing and able to assist with any thing we needed. I would recommend the SeaCliffe Lodge to anyone who wanted to explore the South Cape and wanted to be outside Cape Town.

Very helpful owners - even daily were able to give local advice. Breakfast was excellent and offered good choice. The accommodation was well situated for exploring all of the Cape Peninsular. Within walking distance there were at least two good restaurants, harbour and visitor attractions. However, you would need a car to go further afield. Overall, a good stay. Would re-visit.

A Bit of Hidden Gem
This little hotel is hidden away in Hout Bay, but finds itself in about the middle of just about everything. The rooms are recently remodeled and updated with a comfortable, mildly art-deco flair. Everything works and is high quality without being snobbish. The innkeeper is gracious and provided us with assistance, restaurant advice, and a complementary beverage despite our late arrival in a downpour. This hotel provides a great deal of comfort and security at a good price.

Good accommodation
Excellent breakfast and friendly staff. The manager was friendly and greeted us on arrival. The room was clean and spacious. The location was excellent for touring the area. A hired car is recommended, however, there is a bus service into Cape Town from Houtt Bay. There are 2 excellent restaurants within walking distance of the hotel, the food was reasonable and of a very good standard. The only complaint was the occasional smell of fish coming from the bay but this did not spoil our stay in Seacliffe Lodge.

nice apartment in a very good location
When booking a hotel for Cape Town we didn`t really want to stay in the centre as we wanted to hire a car to explore further afield. Hout bay seemed ideal and Seacliffe Lodge was a real good find. We decided to stay in one of the self catering apartments, which meant that we could come and go as we pleased. The apartment itself had everything that you needed, so if you did want to stay in one night to cook, you had everything you needed and more. We simply didn`t have the time as we were out and about all the time! If you had any problems, then the owners were always on hand to help. The apartment is cleaned every day and they even did the washing up!. Hout Bay was lovely. It has a fantastic restaurant at Mariners Wharf which serves a variety of food and is a 5 minute walk from the hotel. The area is very safe even at night. I would definately recommend this hotel and town. The only thing is that you will need to hire a car to drive around. But driving is relatively easy as long as you have a good navigator, like I did! The start of Chapmans Peak Drive is 5 minutes away, and it took us about 3 minutes to get to Cape Town in the evenings.

The place to stay in the Cape Town area
We loved this place. Tom transfered us safely to and from the airport and took us out on two different days for private tours. We chose where and what we wanted to do. Tom has connections in the wine country for an unforgettable personal tour. Our Cape Point tour included an encounter with baboons, penguins, antique shopping and the best seafood ever with waves crashing against the windows! Seacliffe Lodge is as close to the beach and Mariner's Wharf as you can get.The hop on hop off bus is across the street. That will take you to V & A waterfront and all the other local attractions. You can walk to a mall or the main street in Hout Bay from the Lodge or Tom can arrange your transportation, including a rental car. Staying in Hout Bay was quiet, safe and scenic. The V & A waterfront in Cape Town is ok to visit once but I wouldn't want to stay in that busy area.Seacliffe Lodge has 4 star, 5 star and self catering so there is something for everyone. We had coffee in the beautiful kitchen in the lodge and would stay there next time to enjoy the breakfasts. We felt like family by the time we left and will be back again some day.
