Ski Getaway in the heart of the Catskills

Chez Dumond is a comfortable and stylish home base for exploring the Catskills and Hudson Valley. Here, you will experience Upstate New York like a local.

Dating back to pre-1900, our two-story house is on a safe, quiet street and a short walk to Main Street in Catskill. This property is a short drive to skiing, snowboarding, and tubing at Hunter, Catamount, and Windham Mountains. Explore nearby towns of Hudson (8 min), Saugerties (19 min), Tannersville (25 min), Woodstock (30 min), and Kingston (30 min). Whether you’re a family, a group of friends, or just a couple looking for a weekend away, this area boasts incredible food, bars, art, music, and outdoor activities. Our area recommendations are included in the house binder when guests check-in.

Our French-inspired home is designed with New Yorkers and families in mind. Recent modernizations offer a comfortable and relaxing stay, including new siding, new windows, air-conditioning in the bedrooms, a fully fenced-in backyard, a Solo Stove fire pit, Adirondack chairs for lounging, and a brand new vintage-inspired refrigerator in the 1950s-style kitchen.

Guests have private access to the entire first and second floors, backyard, and driveway on the left side of the house.

One other thing to note: we have had one too many restless nights in vacation rentals on uncomfortable beds. That is why all our beds have brand-new foam mattresses, pillows, and linens. Guests are sure to have a good rest in our house!

Property Disclaimer: This house is over 100 years old in an even older neighborhood that was originally the site of the former Jerome Walsh Brick Yard. The decades of lives lived, families gathered, seasons changed, suns risen, and suns set lends a unique beauty to this home that is best enjoyed by those who appreciate it. She has lovely old bones that we embraced with honor instead of gutted. Please take your comfort level with old facilities and homes into consideration before you book your stay with us. Ask us any questions in advance or during your stay for the best experience.

Perfect Mix of Modern with Splashes of History
The property was exactly as it was described. It was highly stocked with anything you may need (more than any other place I stayed at). I would suggest bringing a fan to use in the main living areas during the summer. However, the AC units kept the bedrooms as cold as you prefer with THE BEST beds to sleep on.

Catskill stay
Property is as advertised. Kitchen, dinning room, living room and full bathroom on the first floor. 2 bedrooms , half bath and a lounge/entertainment area upstairs. We found the home clean and confortable. Neighborhood was very quiet. Area was convenient-minutes from Main St Catskill and short rides to Germantown, Tannersville,Hunter, and Hudson. Fenced yard was great for the dog. Air conditioning was great upstairs and the black out shades in the bedrooms were amazing-looking into them for my own home. My only caveat is if you have mobility issues and stairs are difficult for you to manage there are 15 stairs to get to the second floor. We did'nt have any issues but some may.

Quiet house in Catskill
This house was perfect for our stay in Catskill. It is on a quiet street, that is easily walk-able to downtown. It was also very clean and thoughtfully provisioned. For being an older house the bedrooms were very large and we especially liked the hangout area upstairs.
