Relax and enjoy beautiful Cedar Island Bay.
Wake up to a fantastic view of the sunrise from the comfort of our bay facing great room. Great room opens to a large lawn on the water with a deck over the water. Access to a small private beach! Also just 3 miles from the ferry to the outer banks and beautiful Cedar Island beach on Pamlico Sound.
Three bedrooms that can accommodate up to 8 people with a queen in one room, a full and bunk beds in another, and bunk with futon in the third. Central air conditioning (or heat on a cool night) and ceiling fans in each room. This house has a full kitchen and clothes washer and dryer.
Screened in porch with picnic table and plenty of seating. Side porch has a gas grill. Deck over the water has another picnic table. Private beach access and a double kayak or canoe to enjoy the sound (paddles and life vests on the screened in porch).
Disconnect from the fast pace of daily life. Make memories here at Cedar Sunrise!

Fabulous Location!
The house itself is pretty rustic, but the property is fabulous! The view from the screened porch was beautiful, and the morning sunrises were incomparable. There is no Wi-Fi, but there is plenty of fun to be had. We kayaked and enjoyed the waterfront deck all week. We did day trips to Ocracoke and Beaufort which were easily accessible from Cedar Sunrise. We didn’t fish, but you could fish right from the deck if you wanted to. The house is very basic, but it was nice to unplug for the week. The mattresses all need replacing, and were our least favorite part of the trip. Also, the water is “beachy” tasting, so if you hate that, bring bottled. Even with the horrible beds, we would stay here again. Next time we’ll bring fishing gear. To the owners, please get some box springs to put under the mattresses! That would go a long way to improving the sleep quality.

Wonderful little house on Pamlico Sound.
This was a great little house, clean, well stocked. The deck and small beach with water access was wonderful, all of us took out the kayaks at least once. The location is great if you want to take a day on Ocracoke island or head up to Cape Hatters and Beaufort, we did both. We had eight of us and a dog and plenty of room.

Secluded bliss!
This property was exactly what my husband and I were looking for. He enjoyed fishing from the dock and I enjoyed reading in the sun with absolutely no noise pollution. The kitchen and bathroom had everything we needed. Our teenagers were forced to relax and hang out with each other, which they did by playing with the provided board games or exploring the bay. For swimming, we went to the local beach instead of using the private beach. That was the only downfall is that the private beach wasn’t usable due to excessive seaweed on the sand (not in the water though). The local store was great, the staff was very nice. We went to Ocracoke on the ferry one day and the process was easy. If you’re looking for a tourist trap this is not the place to stay, but if you’re looking for peace and quiet this is the best place to stay!

Perfect disconnect
This was FAR better than the pictures can show! I almost passed on this and I am so glad I didn’t! We took a family trip to get away and that’s exactly what we got. We spent our entire trip fishing from the deck, crabbing, and Scalloping. Not much luck except for the scallops which I was able to make 2 dinners from! The community is a true fishing community and while some are not overly friendly, they were the minority. We visited the General Store and after speaking for a few minutes were treated like we lived there. Thank you! I do two to three trips a year and this was the most relaxing and refreshing trip yet! The owner and property manager were extremely easy to reach and very accommodating. Again, Thank You! This is one of the rare places I visit and could truly see myself picking up and moving. If you want to refresh, I don’t believe you will find a better place.

Cedar sunrise magic
We love the place. It’s a nice little cottage with lots of opportunity for exploring and spending quality time. We took the kids to the aquarium in Atlantic beach last year, a short trip to Beaufort for exploring and went to the beach at the end of the island . We would rather be on the island. Most of our time is spent at the cottage , playing in the water and enjoying the solitude . We appreciate the use of the place . It is greatly anticipated every summer … thank you again.

The listing of this property was accurate. The view was amazing Larry the neighbor was super nice.
Would definitely stay there again. We were There fishing was a convenient drive to the ramp and the island store. Really enjoyed the solitude of no television, we all gathered on the screen porch mostly. If visiting in the summer recommended to bring a fan it made that area more pleasant

cedar island stay
property was clean; water tasted terrible and was full of iron/other minerals and stained several of our clothes; mosquitoes were terrible (not property owners fault); we had to provide our own hand soap, dish wash liquid, trash bags, toilet paper (2 rolls when we got there), paper towels (1 roll when we arrived); toilet got stopped up several times; tub completely clogged second day --- we had to get drano and plunge it several times; I'm not "above" doing any of that, but considering we paid a lo for 6 nights, I don't think we got what we paid for; we did bring a crab pot and caught several crabs --- they we delicious; the neighbors were nice and shared watermelon with us; everyone we met on the island was friendly and helpful; we would not be willing to stay at this house again, however

Dump, Nasty Dump
We did have more pets than we were supposed to but this place was a total dump. From broken glass on the property to faucets falling off in the bathroom. Bath house and were grown in with trees. Nasty old shaving razors laying around. Neighbor is also a nightmare and right on top of you. They took the listing down right after we stayed so we could not say anything right away. i took lots of pictures! And don't eat anywhere on the island. They will overcharge you if they know your a visitor. Place is full of drunks and meth heads!

Over all a wonderful place to stay very peaceful, and on the water , I would not recommend anyone go to the bar at the fairy , they are very rude and don’t appreciate your business, was told they next night to leave because we didn’t tip well enough, I wasn’t there the night before and never made it in the door the next evening, And got asked to leave , I personally found the receipt from the night before and was absolutely shocked at the bill amd tip ,

Great Beach Location
What I enjoyed was it wasn't wall to wall homes on the beach. I really liked the little beach we had, if I wanted to go to a bigger beach it was only 5 minutes away (and you get to see the wild horses). The next biggest town was a little over 30 minute drive to Beaumont. The cottage was well equipped and I enjoyed all the activities you could do there. Kayaking, clamming, crabbing. Not swimming, it's too shallow for that. The one thing I that surprised me was no TV, radio or alarm. It got my husband away from watching TV, which was nice and there were many board games. It would have been nice to have another recliner since my boys fought over it. I just brought out one of the rockers from the bedroom to use in the livingroom. My middle son slept on the top bunk and hit his head on the ceiling fan twice. The patio door was a bit hard to open, I cleaned and regreased that, it helped a little. We also got the shower head working, something is odd about the knob for that. Other than those things, it was great. Really enjoyed our time there. Thank you so much for sharing your home with us!

Beautiful sunrises and peaceful stay
The property itself was lovely and exactly what we needed. I knew we’d made the right decision within 30 minutes of arriving when I saw my kids playing a board game together instead of begging for a screen. The canoe and kayak made it that much better. We really enjoyed our stay.

The view is amazing all day long. The location is quiet and peaceful. Advice would be to limit activities in the Harker’s Island/Beaufort NC area to a couple of ferries to the islands, fill up on groceries, so that more time can be spent rowing in the bay and swimming at Cedar Island Public Beach.

Lovely secluded getaway
This property was such a lovely getaway! The view is terrific and we enjoyed the pelicans, stingrays, and jumping mullet. All the basics were at the property and we enjoyed the grill. Such a quiet peaceful spot… just what we needed! The manager checked in on us to ensure all was well. Easy ferry trip to Ocracoke and short jaunt to Beaufort but the solitude of the neighborhood was lovely.

Unwind at Cedar Sunrise
Cedar Island is a small, rural community where the locals wave when passing. The property and the island were ideal for our outdoorsy family to recharge before resuming hectic post-quarantine schedules. Pictures are accurate but more lovely and spacious in person. Sunrises were lovely. The house was very clean, well equipped, organized and comfortable. The stackable washer and dryer were welcome. We cooked almost every meal and found the kitchen equipped for our needs. It also included items for crab boil, a fish fry, fruity drinks. We grilled and picked up a replacement propane tank at the Island Choice store. Verizon wireless signal was strong. Boys and hubby gamed and streamed video in the evenings and I had a daytime virtual work meeting. We enjoyed meals and game nights around the dining table. We fished and crabbed from the deck overlooking the water and wading from the small beach. The low chairs on the screen porch were comfortable. The spacious great room accommodated puppy's fetch and tug without worry. We have tall teens so supplemented the sofa and lounge chair with 2 of our camp chairs. Our stay started with a large dramatic but somewhat controlled fire in the marshes of the wildlife reserve, then tropical storm Claudette brought high tides and a little wind and rain. The week ended with a late night emergency room visit (all are well). These will fade to family legends. Hosts and local property manager were helpful, friendly and responsive to my anxious late night calls. The property manager, Claudia, checked on us in person. The house is situated to maximize privacy and views. It has beachy landscaping of mimosa trees, palms, a lovely hydrangea, sea grasses. There were a few late afternoon flyovers of military planes and helicopters, but it was not disturbing. We saw crabs, rays, fish, lizards, heron and pelicans, and rabbits. The yard is good size for fetch and tossing football. We did not use the kayaks due to small craft advisories, although it would likely have been safe in the shallows of the bay. Our family enjoyed our stay at Cedar Sunrise. The space worked well for our family of 2 adults, 2 teens and midsized dog. We commented many times how the property would be ideal for the younger children in our extended family.

Not one time did we hear “I am bored” lots of play time in the water, excellent seafood up the road and overall great place for solitude! We will be back! I love the island! It was daughter in laws first trip to the ocean as well as the grandkids you don’t have to travel to an aquarium, it’s right in your front yard! I just can’t say enough about our stay!
