Being a 15-20min walk from the town centre it might be slightly out of the way for some (I chose it for that very reason). On the other hand, its location equips it with extensive grounds, a beautiful aspect and rooms, along with the best spa, gym and swimming pool facilities on the island. My own room was cosy and beautifully appointed, with a view overlooking the top of the city towards the harbour. One floor below, a statement staircase led to a fine restaurant and first-rate front desk, both with a knack for genial and understated hospitality. Five stars in every respect, and recommended without caveat. Thank you to the team and the managers for a reminder that stylish service never goes out of fashion."
