The Bonnie Lodge has 6 bedrooms, 3 full baths, kitchen, spacious breakfast room, dining room, laundry room, and a front porch that views Lake Michigan's most beautiful sunsets in Charlevoix!
The Bonnie Lodge was built in 1897 and became our family's summer destination 1975. Our Mother was born on Beaver Island and was raised in Charlevoix.
Make fun family memories in Charlevoix like we have for years! Enjoy the two beautiful beaches on Lake Michigan (Michigan Beach) and Lake Charlevoix (The Depot Beach). We enjoy spending the day at The Depot Beach playing volleyball, swimming, and barbecuing. Michigan Beach includes concessions and swimming along the Charlevoix Lighthouse. Grab your pole, drop a line just steps away Bonnie Lodge and catch yourself a small mouth bass .
Golf: Don't forget to take time to experience the best golfing in the Midwest at Dunamaglas -where you will be taken aback by the breathtaking peaceful scenery. Not up for18 holes? Don't worry, hop on the Ironton Ferry for 9 holes at Ye Nyne Olde Holles. Check out the great kid friendly golf course, The Charlevoix Golf Club (9 holes) It is the oldest golf course in Michigan & is less than one mile from Bonnie Lodge.
Take a walk to downtown Charlevoix and explore the quaint boutiques and dining. Be sure to visit The Villager Pub and experience Charlevoix's best local caught white fish. If your jag is roof top dinning and music, head to The Earl. For fine dining, head to The Grey Gables & savor every bite while enjoying the ambiance. Take a short 3 mile drive to the "Back Lot" and treat yourself to a great Food Truck experience. While you are there, stop by Grill Chasers and say hello to our daughter and owner, Jessi!!

This home is perfectly located to walk to shopping, restaurants and the lake.
Everything we would need was there at the house. It may be an older home but quite cozy and again the location couldn’t have been better.
We all enjoyed everything about our trip and stay.
Property was incredibly comfortable, kids loved roaming from room to room, and excellent communication with the property manager. Easy walk to downtown. While this was not an issue for us, there was limited space to prepare food.
Our family of 7 came up to Charlevoix for a wedding. The location was perfect for our travel to the wedding venue. Walking to downtown Charlevoix was only 3 short blocks to pubs, wine bars, boutiques, a local grocery store, the marina, community park & beaches on Lake Michigan & Lake Charlevoix. The sunsets over Lake Michigan were beautiful & could be viewed from the front porch/yard . Bonnie Lodge is a nostalgic older house with vintage farmhouse decor. The main areas & bedrooms were spacious with comfortable seating & beds. The kitchen was the smallest area but worked for us since we only prepared/ ate breakfast & a couple of lunches there. Glenn was great communicating with us. We all enjoyed our stay !
The house was great, it is quite large and easily accomodated my family of 10 people and allowed privacy for the adults. My only issue was the small kitchen with the very old sink. It will not function well if you would like to cook while visiting northern Michigan. The appliances are great but the size of the space was very small.
Otherwise, a great stay and trip!
Location is great to walk to downtown clean and functional. We had 12 people in our group and there was plenty of room for all of us the host is fantastic to deal with and communicates well
We rented the Bonnie Lodge for a wedding at Castle Farms. The location could not have been more ideal with only having to walk two blocks to be in downtown Charlevoix. There is plenty of space for larger groups to enjoy your stay in northern Michigan!
Great location!!! Bottom floor could use some updating kitchen sink not ideal for doing dishes. Could use a good cleaning for cobwebs etc. trash was full when we got there a few repairs needed but overall great location and stay!!
Great location. Clean house. Plenty of amenities.
Glenn was so welcoming. Needed a last minute pack and play crib for the baby and it was delivered before bedtime. So flexible on check out! Made us fall in love with Charlevoix!
The title says it all. If you are looking for the absolute best location in Charlevoix this is it. Walk to the bridge in 2 minutes, to the beach in 10, and anywhere else in about 5. The home itself was just as impressive. The entire upstairs seemed like it had been renovated somewhat recently. It wasn't stuffy like some older homes in the area, the beds and bedding were comfortable, towels soft, and everything was very clean. The main level was also very nice and offered plenty of room for our entire group. (We were 6 adults and 6 kids). The kitchen is a little small but came equipped with everything needed. Overall I'd be happy renting this home again and gladly recommend it to anyone considering it.

Good and bad
A great location - lots of bedrooms but many interconnecting so not as private as one might want. Kitchen small but well equipped. There aren't many instructions for how to use the tv, the remote for the heaters, etc. The heating was a big problem as we all froze in the main room where we spent most of our time - just a small wall heater there. If it's summer that would not be a problem.
What do you think of this: The location of this property is excellent, and it's quiet, especially given its proximity to the CVX bridge. The kitchen is not up to date and presents a challenge for a large group. It's well appointed with paper plates, napkins, cups, plastic cutlery, pots and pans, and condiments. But it's not really conducive to cooking for a full house, as the sink is tiny and there is no dishwasher. The beds are all very comfortable; some of the furniture needs updating, particularly in the living room. It's important to understand the layout of the house: it's good for families and kids. Two of the upstairs bedrooms connect and do not have private entrances. A downstairs bedroom is sandwiched between a bathroom and another bedroom. It was a challenge for our group, as we had separate couples in each room. That said, we had a great time in CVX, especially in the front yard where there are portable outdoor chairs available for and ample porch seating. Glenn was great and welcoming in responding to my initial call about the door code. I was assured he was available whenever I needed him (which was only once).
Perfect location, dated facility, needs upgrading but still warm and comfortable. Given the opportunity, would likely stay there again. Fix the broken bedspring in the double bed in the southernmost bedroom on the main floor. Also, one of the metal chairs in the porchlike dining area is broken.
The house is a fun place for a large group. The location is great - although you have to be aware of when the drawbridge goes up when headed into town (just a couple blocks away). The owner was responsive and check in was easy. It was just as pictured! A couple things to be aware of - there isn't a good gathering place in the yard, and the kitchen would be challenging if you were there for a week with a large group and cooking at home. Otherwise all was wonderful!
We had 22 people for a family reunion. Plenty of room for various groups, 2 living room areas and 3 porch areas. 3 refrigerators in 3 different areas (2ranges, 1oven). Walked into downtown everyday. Walked to beach, park, rented boat in harbor. Rode bikes (brought our own)for miles. Very enjoyable and would rent there again! Had a problem with hot water and they fixed it in 30 minutes, replaced propane tank when requested.
