“The hot tub is broke….there is no game room we actually saw a cot in that room with beer bottles. The sheets were also dirty. There was a party downstairs and the people were so loud at night outside our room.”

“There was moldy food in the shared fridge in the hall way, peeling wall paper everywhere and the entire building doesn’t look maintained at all. As a single woman traveling I was very uncomfortable and left as early as I could in the morning.”

“The continental breakfast was really sad. They only had apples, bananas, cereal bread and gas station donuts.”

“Best mattress and pillows by a mile that we have EVER slept on!! Staff was super friendly and always checking and seeing if we needed anything. Will definitely stay there again!!”

“Things were all older and dated, but everything was clean. Bedsheets were so old they were nubby. Bathroom was fine with very soft water. Included breakfast was marginal, with pop tarts and weak coffee. It was interesting having a busy bar in the midst of the building, adding character. It is also a gathering place for both Harley bikers and golfers for the adjacent course; quite a contrast. It's the only place around, so if we go to another concert in Mt.Carroll, we'll probably stay again.”

“Room was a surprise, living room. Separate from bedroom. We got there at 4 room was not cleaned yet so we had to leave and find something to do for an hour. Lady at the desk was apologetic. Breakfast was a joke.”

“We had an amazing stay at Mont Rest! Hearing the history from Chris (the owner) was an added treat! So crazy to see how she saved the property not once, but twice! The staff was exceptional. The breakfast was incredible. I loved that there wasn't a huge push to get people checked out. Our room was lovely and well appointed! We cannot wait to schedule another long weekend in Bellevue!”
