The views were picturesque, our videos while on site look like something out of a movie. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, arranging transport to and from as we needed, and on hand while around the hotel. The rooms were spacious, super comfortable beds, large balcony with stunning views. If you visit this part of Thailand, this hotel is a must stay!

Beautiful resort in tropical Thailand!!
We loved everything about the Panviman!! We stayed 3 nights. The room was clean and spacious. We enjoyed our meals, especially the breakfast buffet. Bonus: our first dinner included a surprise cake for our 50th Wedding Anniversary!! The resort is located on a hillside, but very friendly drivers picked us up in golf carts and delivered us quickly to our room, the pool, the lobby, etc. Also, Sam, the manager was very accommodating. We will definitely return!

Really poor customer service and despite staying in the most expensive room (Pool Villa) in the Resort, the staff on the golf cart didn’t really acknowledge us nor offer us help. The reception was not well trained and the room had a large number of ants in the shower. Overall, I won’t go back again. Big disappointment!

3 days in the pool villa
Stayed at the pool villa for 3 days. Stay was good. Everyone was friendly for the most part. Quiet area* if youre luckier.. Landscapers always seem to be there. Very large property. Most uphill workout if you want to walk. The room: Pool was coldddddddd. Almost unusable cold. Also kind of dirty. The jacuzzi tub thing spat out sand and whatever else. Never got to use it. No one wanted in, even at the main pool. So paying the lots of extra for it was not worth it at all. Lunch or breakfast in the pool. You will be the ice cream. Maybe try the hot tub for cheaper and better use! (And maybe cleaner) Tried the massages 3 times. Good. Strong. Save some doe.. id book a regular room bexause its on the very top of the hill and more scenic. I had blocked views in the villa. Food 10$+ to 30$. 3.5\5 Cocktails 8+ medium to small 3\5 Beer n liquor about the same upwards to 30 for a shot in a glass lol. Soda probably 8oz 3 Water 1.1 Tea about 2-3. quite pricy. Even for Thailand. Quite a ways to other food area and you will need a ride. So your really stuck eating there food. Maybe i should have expanded the budget if you are on a budget. Regular rooms seem alot better now..

Panviman Chiang Mai Spa Resort is a mountain resort in the Mae Rim valley, actually in Pong Yang sub-district, 30 km. from downtown Chiang Mai. Everything is perfect. It’s really good atmosphere, surrounding by evergreen and mountain, including artificial water fall, trees, flowers and organic vegetables and a farming community. There are 2 kinds of room, hotel building and separated bungalow for family. All of them are built along the hill. It’s quite high incline. There is electrical shuttle car to service if you need. No elevator in hotel building, not suitable for elder customer.   There are 3 swimming pools including hot Jacuzzi pools with 35 deg C of water temperature. Gym is open-air gym. The equipment is good and varieties. The main restaurant, Panorama, is tasty. Breakfast is very good, tasty. There are a lot of varieties of food.   My room is very large, clean and comfortable, equipped with very large balcony with sitting area. There bathroom is large with separate area for toilet, shower and Jacuzzi. The bathroom wall can be opened to connect with bedroom. Welcome fruit is tasty and fresh. Wifi in room and whole hotel area is good, but a bit slow.   All staff are very kind and helpful.   Recommend for everyone who would like to deep hide away from city.

Check in was terrible! Totally unfriendly and unprofessional. not compare to other 5 star hotels in thailand. Toilet didn’t work! Gym was old and basic. Breakfast was very limited. Electricity went out a couple of times. It is a beautiful scenery but hotel management is very poor. Prices are US and Europe prices but you are in Thailand! I woukd say skip and try another one in the area. Do not be deceived by pictures or previous reviews.

We are constantly evaluating our services and amenities in an effort to provide the best possible stay for each of our guests.Power went off were concerned by the Provincial Electricity Authority however we have 2 generators that can produce the electricity for 500 kva. Our hotel breakfast options may not huge with wide variety like in the big 5 stars hotel in Bangkok or others as we are small 5 stars resort with only 55 rooms, villas & suites so we provide with the good quality options according to our hotel size and guests. Panviman Chiang Mai Spa Resort values our guests above all else, and we are committed to providing a perfect experience. Guest Satisfaction is our highest priority as we have been awarded "Superb" from Hotels.com. Thank you for your time to review we hope can be of service next time.

Had a great stay, loved our room only downfall was I wish the splash pool we had was heated the water was freezing cold and we couldn’t enjoy our amazing view. Terrific staff they were always welcoming and kind. Breakfast buffet was delicious and the cooking class was fun. I would love to come back and stay again someday.

Heavenly escape!
Panviman is the perfect mix of escape, relaxation and luxury. High up in the mountains of Chiang Mai, this resort offers breathtaking views, luxurious accommodations and one of the most beautifully designed/situated spas I’ve ever visited. My partner and I felt comfortable and safe moving around the space and were very welcomed by staff. Oh, and the food is great! Try the taro creme brûlée!

Stunning location and while a little old in places still a beautiful place to stay. Pool area is awesome. Staff all over super attentive. Restaurant and breakfast staff especially nice and genuinely interested in our stay outside the resort with accurate suggestions for things to do on area. Can't recommend highly enough.

great location if you have a car to drive around. the front desk often had problem with their English so getting what I wanted most often took 2 phone calls... The room condition was OK, but it appeared the hotel is not getting maintained as it should be. The price for the room was an overcharge at the end of the day for the overall quality of the room. food prices were OK, but the drinks were horrible. $5 USD for 1 small Coke when ordered with room service (included with larger order)

Very nice hotel, but alcohol too expensive
Very pretty location, but the pool didn't get much sun due to the surrounding trees. The food was good, but the alcohol was much too expensive for Thailand in my opinion. No happy hour either, which doesn't help. If you go, I recommend stopping at 7-eleven to get some drinks.

The views were incredible, incredibly peaceful getaway resort. Food and staff were phenominal. We had a room with private pool, which was extremely private and very enjoyable, but i would note the pool is not heated. None of the pools are heated that the resort has. The drive to the top of the mountain was a little rough with steep hills and many quick turns. Overall great getaway place.

First room offered was very dark due to being on a lower elevation. The one window looked out onto what was essentially the bottom of a deep rock wall, could hardly see the sky when trying to look upwards. The large balcony was accessed via two wooden doors (no windows) and the view was obscured by trees. The room itself was old fashioned with dark heavy furniture and few lights. We even needed the torch to read some information on aircon etc. We were offered the room above which was identical but lighter being up one floor. The grounds of the hotel are beautiful and very relaxing, great pool area, excellent food. The hotel could benefit from a small shop for general items as there are no shops nearby. Chiang Mai is a one hour drive away. The hotel provides a free (at certain times) bus service.

Great resort. Beautiful grounds, could not get enough of it while walking around and enjoying the scenery. Spa is extremely expensive. Pool was a bit chilly, but to be expected in the mountains. Room could have been cleaner- cobwebs and dust all around the room. Other than that, it was pretty clean. Overall I would recommend to anyone.

A taste of Paradise.
We absolutely loved our stay at Panviman Resort. We booked the pool villa. It was unbelievably relaxing. We are retirees who live in Chiang Mai and we enjoy checking out the local resorts close to Home. This resort is like a theme park! The grounds are huge and beautifully maintained. It’s a peace of paradise. Staff is friendly. And the buffet breakfast was wonderful. Lots of choices. It’s about an hour outside of Chiang Mai up in the mountains so best to have your own transportation. But for a get away it was perfect. The rooms are spacious and the bedding superb. We will be back.

Great and beautiful view from sky mountain room!
Great stay and I could do excerise by only walk up and down from lobby to my room! The room was really new and well decorated.

BEAUTIFUL! There are no other words to explain this resort. I highly recommend. We stayed 2 days in the city of Chiang Mai then came 2 nights here to get the full jungle experience. AMAZING RESORT- I recommend to splurge a little more and get the pool or jacuzzi suite. We had 3 rooms- pool, jacuzzi and a regular high mountain view. They were amazing.

The hotel is set in a beautiful area.
It is a pity the hotel is poorly maintain and the management is very weak. So many inconsistency. I will not return to this resort.

Beautiful hotel, service and food is great.
My stay was excellent! I loved loved this hotel. One problem is that this hotel is far from the city. the hotel only offers on free shuttle in the morning and one free shuttle in the evening (limited space available & must reserve it in advance)

This place is amazing. Beautiful views. Lovely architecture and surrounding nature. Very friendly staff. We loved the breakfast and had some very atmospheric dinners with nice music and great scenery to enjoy. Wonderful pool. Loved everything about this place! Before I came, I read many reviews on trip advisor. Some of the reviews remarked that the place was old and rundown. The only evidence I saw of this were the lobby floors were a little worn. But this in no way impacted our stay and the building was still extremely charming and attractive all round.

Hotel in the hills
Never underestimate the therapeutic value of bumbling around doing nothing at all in this tranquil resort. However, Spa is not up to what i would have expected and rather pricy for the mediocre service from staff

Great retreat out in the jungle
We were warmly greeted and treated very well. Everyone was amazing and very friendly. I only wished we could have stayed longer. Next time we come out we plan to only make our stay at the Panviman Resort & Spa.

Disgusting treatment and staff were inappropriate
Well it was a beautiful property but with a do not disturb sign on my door, a staff walked right in to my room with out knocking while I was a sleep , then they can in to my room again with a do not disturb on my door to do a turn down service when I didn’t want that. I then get a phone call regarding a noise complaint and they wake me up out of a dead sleep and I couldn’t get back to bed as I was just working out my jet leg. I missed my elephant tour in the morning due to that. They tried to offer me a ride to my next resort and I already had a free ride to downtown through theirs free shuttle which was a 5 min taxi to my next hotel. They then tried to cover $15 dollars in food which is way less than a $40 dollar private ride they offered. The staff were rude and constantly giving attitude. They then tried to offer me 2 free nights if I ever came back (why would I stay there again? I told them to refund my two nights stay instead and left my email and it’s been one week and no manager has replaced my money or acknowledged my request. I have spoke to my lawyer regarding then entering my room while sleeping with a do not disturb and it is in fact an invasion of privacy and unlawful entry. If they were smart they should be emailing or I will be moving forward with a small claims law suit.
