Lovely village inn with small but lovely menu (may be small as they have only just been able to open with restrictions). Host was very helpful as were his staff. Room was a nice size (we had opted for an executive room) with plenty of hot water, windows that open (no noise at night) and soft towels.
In a very quiet village location, the hotel is well located for sightseeing around the Chilterns. Would certainly recommend it.
The only downside would be that it seems to close early so if you like to stay up till late it's probably not for you. It suited us but not everyone wants to be in bed before 11 pm.
Martin and his staff are the most friendly people you can meet. The rooms are excellent and ours had a view across the fields. Breakfast and the other meals were all delicious. Highly recommended, we will return the next time we are in the area.
Rooms clean and comfortable. Owner very friendly and amenable. All the staff gave great service in the bar & restaurant. We had a table of 10 attending the Sunday lunch. Nothing was too much trouble for staff, and the food was great. We will definitely stay again when we next do our cycle tour.
Stay was just OK. Main disappointment was the nights sleep. The bed was uncomfortable due to uneven firmness and sound of springs when moving in bed. Very flat pillows. The room was quite small without hooks on backs of doors for (wet)coats and bath towels or sufficient shelve space for toilet bags. Could not use toilet without having to wedge leg against the side of the bath. Breakfast buffet was OK and hot food OK without excelling, e.g. mushrooms pretty watery an tasteless. All in all disappointing, will not be staying here again, definitely not worth £109.00
Nice well equipped appartment wit excellent countryside view.

Quiet Country Retreat
Stayed here while doing 2 stages of the Ridgeway nearby. Quiet and pretty location at the end of a country lane. Friendly staff and good food in a nice atmosphere. Rooms were clean & comfortable and ours had a proper bath (appreciated after 20 miles walking!). Some nice outside seating and plenty of secure parking. We would return if in the area again.
Room with a terrific view, very comfortable bed, great breakfast choice, and evening meal first class, friendly staff.

very basic
basic - this place was recommended but was rather disappointed on how basic the place was including my room - no pen & paper in my room either when I needed to write a contact number down
I have stayed here 3 or 4 times. The staff are so kind and friendly, nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are lovely with hypnos beds so slept like a log! Great WiFi. Fabulous breakfast. Look forward to my next visit.
Three of us were walking the Ridgeway Trail and stopped at the Peacock. While apparently expensive, this is a superbly run inn and worth the premium - you also get a better deal if you book directly! The bar is pleasant, the food is good, the staff are friendly and efficient, and the rooms are really comfortable. everything about the place is a tribute to the care of the proprietor.
Everything about the Peacock Inn surpassed our expectations. The serene location, the warm atmosphere, the superb customer service and good cheer, and delightful food and wine made me attempt to book another trip from the U.S. next year.
Stayed overnight so that we could visit Waddesdon Manor but next time we'll be here just to stay at this lovely country inn

Not a country inn at all, cheap motel instead
The restaurant is a country inn but the rooms are modern but not good modern, shower ran cold both times after two minutes, they look like cheap motel rooms. The wifi was fast though and reliable, the staff were were helpful and pleasant. The restaurant has hardly any people in for a Saturday night. I used to go there in the 80's and it was always packed then
I didn't know this from the Expedia booking but all the downstairs rooms are dog friends and I'm allergic so spent most of the night wheezing. Not the hotels fault though, their website did make that clear but I booked through Expedia.
The room wasn't hot but because it was on the ground floor I didn't feel safe sleeping with the window open.
