This was a last minute trip with my daughter.. scuba diving in Cozumel is divine. She loved each and every dive. The hotel is in need of an update. We had been in other Barcelo hotels but this one has the worst food. I know it’s an all inclusive buffet but the food is bad. No sugarcoating, plain bad, unless you get one of the specialty restaurants at night and you can get a decent meal. The best thing this hotel have is the people! Veronica at the buffet. The group of servers at the Premium area, they are the best! You can get breakfast and low key lunch there without the crazy buffet! If you have a chance get the premium level, it will get you closer to the beach and a better service for the price.

The AC in our unit never reached what we set it to, but with the fan on it was fine enough at night. The shower head in my kids room broke and housekeeping didnt report it broken. We just let the kids use our shower. Housekeeping came every day and gave fresh towels even when we left them hanging to reuse, so that was a nice suprise. The mini fridges barely got any of the drinks cold. I did love the patio hammock and used it daily. The food was tolerable. We found things to eat for each meal. Though i read the same food reviews from several other sources. Restaurant service wasnt the best. After getting your food is when a staff would come take your drink order. We usually got waters. Rarely did they ever offer refills. The oriental restaurant had the best food and service, though we didn't get the chance to try the Italian restaurant. Margaritas were pretty good. Not too strong so i found myself downing them peetty quickly since they were yummy. The pools were great and the bar service too. My 10 and 6 yo had good times at the kid water park. Even i went down the slides quite a few times! I cant say much on the entertainment as we hardly participated in any of thos.We had a decent time, but i will be looking at other options if we ever go back.

Had a fantastic time at this resort, we did have a couple of issues. It was impossible to get in touch with then before our stay and very hard to as well after, though they did finally reply. They never answered the phones either times. My husband also got a pretty bad electrical shock turning off a fan and the hotel didn’t seem to care when we told them. The location was beautiful and very clean, my kids loved the food but we had a hard time getting drink service at the buffets.
