I stayed at The Fairmont Dallas for two weeks. Unfortunately, my experience was not good. I booked a regular room and also paid for an upgrade to the Gold Room on floors 17-19. The regular rooms looked old, which was disappointing. The Gold Room didn't offer much more than a standard room at any other hotel. The staff had trouble explaining the upgrade process, which was frustrating. The pool was dirty, which made my experience worse. There was no toilet paper twice in the Gold Lounge, and the staff had trouble finding more, which was unacceptable for a luxury service. The service was inconsistent; some staff members were nice and helpful, while others were just okay. Despite leaving tips, the service didn't get better. The hotel promised personalized service for Gold Room guests, including knowing your name and providing a personal concierge for check-in and check-out, but none of this happened. We ate at the Pyramid Restaurant twice and received different levels of service and food quality, even though we ordered the same dishes. This is concerning and suggests a lack of quality control. Despite the staff trying to look professional, it seemed like they were trying to hide the hotel's poor condition. The location is convenient, but that doesn't make up for the hotel's problems. Because of how long I stayed and the Gold Room upgrade, I expected better luxury & communication. The Fairmont Dallas didn't meet my expectations, and I can't recommend it based on my experience.

I received a $47 charge when requesting an additional key card, that was not unexplained when received. Additionally, $50 for daily valet (and valet is the ONLY available hotel parking) is pretty ridiculous. Especially bc I've stayed at luxurious hotels that didn't charge such a fee. Lastly, one of the front desk staff members was not very friendly. She seemed to have very little patience or willingness to answer simple questions.

I called before I booked the hotel to find out when the pool closed, as I knew I’d be arriving late and still wanted to use the pool. The person on the phone at the hotel told me the pool closed at 11. I got to the pool at 9:45 and at 10 security staff came out and told us the pool closes at 10. I would’ve booked a different hotel had I been given the correct info. The room was fine. Bedding was very thin and not luxurious or cozy. Last night and this morning our whole floor and our room stank of pot smoke. We used the basket and when he returned our car, the valet person smelled so bad of body odor, that the smell lingered in our car for quite a while. This was our first and last visit to the Fairmont Dallas.
