A very ordinary hotel but a good location.Posted Nov 22, 2015
Pros: Only plus points were: location, late check out time (12.00)
We booked this 2 night stay for it's location (close to Temple Bar/St Stephen's Green) and price and as it was inexpensive we were not really expecting too much. The hotel was no more than ok, our room was a reasonable size with a larger than average bathroom. We experienced considerable noise from a large air conditioning unit outside our window. The breakfast was sitting for too long it should have been replenished more frequently, we paid extra for this and would have been better off eating in the locality. There were lot's of other small things that were disappointing: wires running to tills hanging in the air plugged into adapters, people delivering things walking through the middle of the breakfast room and being charged 2 euros per bag to leave our bags for a couple of hours after our check out - great that we could leave them but have never had to pay before. This isn't somewhere I would consider recommending.

Good location, subpar facilities.Posted Nov 20, 2015
Pros: It had a bed.
Cons: Either upgrade the facilities or charge less.
Location: Located in Temple Bar which is pretty much the only thing it has going for it.
I don't know if I just got the loser room because I checked in late, but this hotel was really not great. The window had apparently been left open all day (it was a cold, late November day) so it was freezing when I got there. Once I closed the window the room warmed up a bit but the bathroom remained frigidly cold. Walking barefoot on the tile and sitting on the chilly toilet seat was extremely unpleasant. Speaking of the bathroom, the shower is a simple stall with very little room to move while showering, and the sliding doors were very hard to open and close. The room itself was very utilitarian in terms of its appearance and furnishings. I don't mean that in a complimentary way. The shelving and "wardrobe" looked like they came out of a college dorm. The bed was big but the mattress wasn't particularly comfortable and the bedding was scratchy (and the comforter was relatively thin). The hair dryer in the room was broken. The staff was friendly and helpful but I'm pretty sure that they have some kind of arrangement with private cab drivers because I asked them to book me a cab to the airport after having been told by several different people (not laypeople, professional tour guides) that it would cost a certain amount that was in my budget. When I came down in the morning I was shown to an unmarked car and the ride cost 50% more than what the tour guides told me. Not a great experience, but at least it wasn't terribly expensive.

Dated, dirty, nasty hotelPosted Nov 20, 2015
Pros: Close to the "sights" of Dublin
Cons: Everything. It's dated and dirty. There are no basic amenities. The furniture is ugly and impractical.
Location: It's right in Temple Bar so if that's your thing, it's perfect. But it's also close to the basic sights of Dublin. Dublin Castle, Book of Kells, etc.
I've never left a bad review of ANYTHING before, but I had to leave one about this place because it was just the WORST. Considering that the average person doesn't spend much time in their room, it shouldn't be too big of a deal if it's not excellent. But this place was beyond gross. There was a HUGE stain between the beds on the carpet. Could be vomit, might be food. I don't know. The carpet in the whole room was beyond filthy- our socks got dirty and so did our bare feet. There were NO BASICS. No tissues. There are no ice machines, so no ice. No microwave. No refrigerator. They didn't even provide a top sheet on the bed so you slept right up against the comforter. The fixtures in the bathroom were ancient. Separate hot and cold taps so no way to get warm water. As if that isn't bad enough, they say they offer "free" internet. Yeah, well we couldn't get a signal in our room unless we sat in the bathroom and even then it barely worked. You have to sign in up to 10 times before it will work. So frustrating. The only good thing about the hotel was the location within walking distance of the main attractions. Otherwise, it just isn't worth it. I would never stay here again and I definitely wouldn't recommend it. If you do, be sure to bring earplugs to block out the base sound from the bar below.

Excellent location with great adjoining bar!Posted Nov 17, 2015
Perfectly located in the heart of Temple Bar. Room was basic but clean and adequate. We only had breakfast once and it was great - I do appreciate other reviews of it being dry etc (it's a buffet so the earlier you eat it the better). Great value. The Vat House Bar adjoins the hotel and is super for Live Irish Music! Our over all stay was excellent value for money. We'll be back! Recommended.

Great location for seeing the city, walking distance to a lot of the big attractions. Hotel is above a dance club, so it can be a bit noisy at night but it didn't keep me up.

Heart of temple barPosted Oct 8, 2015
Although the area is rowdy at night it's to be expected as temple bar is a very lively area with plenty of Live music, bars and restaurants a plenty. The bloom hotel is the perfect location with close supermarkets, ATMs and the all important night life. The hotel is well equipped with excellent polite staff Recommend

Pros: Convenience to transport and Temple Bar Clean.
Cons: Staff could be more friendly, and charging money to keep bags for 1 hr a disgrace.
Good location, just off main street of Temple Bar. Clean room. No fridge. Beds comfortable. Fairly quiet considering position. close to transport. Was amazed they charged to store luggage for 1 hr. Desk staff we encountered not particularly cheery or welcoming..
