I didn’t like how dark the room was, the lighting in the room was terrible and had a hard time seeing when trying to get ready, we had to open the blinds to let the light in. Also, the rooms AC temperature can’t be changed, so the room felt hot, we had to open the window, but there is a bar next to the hotel that gets way too loud to leave the window open at night. The fridge in the room did not get cold, everything is luke warm that comes out of the room fridge. We had a room that provided an executive lounge, which was only open from 10am-8pm, which doesn’t work around the scheduled tours. Definitely better if the hours were 6am-10pm. Also, multiple days we found the room not stocked with items, like coffee cups for the coffee or snack food. A good item to put in the fridge would be bottle water, there was none in the lounge, just soda, tonic water, beer and wine, after a day out bottled water would have been excellent to have. Very clean, towels swapped out daily, beds made, garbage emptied daily, as well. Bed very comfortable. Shower is very nice, even though the ceiling is low, but always had hot water with good water pressure. Area felt safe and convenient location to shopping, restaurants, and tour buses. Very walkable to all the sites we wanted to see in Dublin.

Everything was great about this hotel. We needed to do some laundry and were advised by the hotel staff to have Laundry Heap (an app based service) to pick it up. A combination of lack of experience with it on my end and Laundry Heap’s lack of customer service led to some stress. My recommendation: get your steps by walking your laundry down to White Wash, about 15 minutes down the road. It’ll be ready in 3 hours and cost less.

Davenport is well located and has the potential for an elegant hotel but it is in need of some TLC. It was satisfactory but not great. There were common areas that needed attention, the decor was okay but not luxurious. The staff worked very hard but they seemed to lack enthusiasm towards guests. The whole property felt like it needed extra attention.

The Davenport was a perfect hotel, in the heart of Dublin. East walk to Trinity College, Book Of Kells, St Patrick’s and so many more. Not far from either train station. And the hotel itself was lovely. Staff attentive and kind. Would stay here again.

The Davenport is very well located walking distance of Trinity College, Temple Bar and O'Connell Street attractions. Yet, we found the hotel to be very quiet. We were also impressed with the on-site restaurant in the lobby. Tip: Put your key card in the key card reader inside your room to turn on the lights.
