Hotel is in a good location, fairly priced. Very annoyed with staff though; my sister left her purse in the room and after numerous calls, asking us to call back, im now told to call again tonorrow!

Great hotel!
The gentleman on Reception was extremely personable and kind. The hotel was very clean and I was very happy with the standard. The location was also ok as I went out alone for dinner, walked for over 20 mins to my chosen restaurant but felt safe in the area. I would recommend this hotel.

Disappointed...hotel didn’t look like in photos, the bathroom was dirty was scared to take shower...bed not better :( It’s cheap but you know why!

I would not return here
A hotel left here from the 1970s. As soon as I stepped into the room I regret did not book in the Holiday Inn opposite this hotel. The hotel should spend some mony on refurbishment. Check-in was smooth and nice but at the check-out an old, grumpy receptionist just made me sure never return here again. Location is good, as it is few minutes from the shopping areas and train station. But stay here only if you are very much on budget and you do not have any expectations.

Nice little hotel close to local amenities
Spent 5 nights in the hotel. Room was a good size and comfortable with a good en suite. Staff were helpful on check in and throughout the stay. Good prices and good location - lots of food places nearby and only about a ten minute walk into the old town. Nice place to use as a base, and would consider staying again

Not staying again!!!
Room was quite unclean with Flies and Insects on the bed, Rubbish dumped just on the doorstep in the corridor. TV Didn't work and reception staff was unfriendly. I will not recommend to stay in this hotel. The location was good, but there are other hotels for the similar price with much better service and standard.

The shower didnt have shope which we asled to refill in the morning of the next day and when we came back it was still empty.. they didnt replace it ever.. so we went and bought to take a shower.. Woman in the receptionist knew very few english to colaborate and guide us through the site seen and food places to dine etc...

Simple but perfectly acceptable room
The hotel is exactly what you need from a centrally located low-priced hotel. The room was a good size and clean with all the basics. The bed was fine – not great, but not uncomfortable. It was also surprisingly quiet. And the staff were courteous, helpful and polite. Checkin was quick and easy and there was no hassle on checkout.

Whilst I accept our stay clashed with the Medica trade fair we had to pay the average weekly salary for one night for a room which couldn't be worth a half days salary outside of this time. The staff even had the audacity to ask if we wanted breakfast at extra cost. ! I can't say our room was dirty as that's a strong word but it isn't a hotel for anyone looking to enjoy Düsseldorf as it will leave you disappointed . The very Germanic night porter was also very rude who thinks we are still living in the 50's . You can work that one out for yourselves !

Short Stay Dusseldorf
We flew into Dusseldorf and took the rail link from the airport to Wehrhahn Bahnhof (2.60 euro each) which is only a couple of minutes walk to the hotel. We arrived fairly late in the evening and the man behind the desk was very pleasant (spoke good English so we didn't need our poor German). Once we had booked in we wanted to go out for a meal/drink and was directed to a nearby bier garten Brauerei Frankenheim, must try the Dusseldorfer bier - its good. Next day we got hold of a 3 day pass for the train/bus/S-bahn (had to ask for it but its free) and popped into centre of town and walked the shops & arcades for hours (the wife was in her element). There is a fair bit of renewal building going on but no real problem. We also traveled on the train to Cologne and to Wuppertal (to Cologne was only part way free and we had to pay 5 euro each for the extra). Must say the public transport system is great, travelling by train was a pleasure - everything runs on time!! If you have a smart phone get the Rheinbahn and DB Navigator apps - everyone has them and uses them whilst travelling, you get the up-to-date info if anything is running late (which is not often). On way home got stuck at the airport due to snow; have to say Dusseldorf airport is the best I have every been through. Oversll we enjoyed the stay and would go back

Disappointing Hotel
We booked this hotel because it stated on their internet it had an indoor pool, however, once there we were advised the pool had been closed down. The hotel is disappointing, tired, old worn brown carpets and as we were staying at the front of the hotel we had to endure the constant noise of a tram from approx 6am until midnight which runs right outside. Across the road and all around there was big building/construction work going on. Although you can walk into the old town from the hotel, approx 15/20 mins, that would be the only advantage. We were offered tea and coffee as we mentioned to reception we were going to a cafe a few doors away for a tea and then charged 5 euro for tea and 3.50 euro for coffee when checking out. We did complain and were given a reduction! Light in bathroom broken, mattress dirty with damp spots. Although a cheap hotel, we would not stay here again.

This was one of the worst hotel experiences in a very long time. It did not become better as I paid more than 300 Euro for this dump per night. This was an absolute joke, a bad one.

Tiny room, but the price was right.
I arrived around 8PM - after dark. The street in front of the hotel was quite dark and I think this would be uncomfortable for most people. Although I had prepaid for the room through Expedia the night clerk insisted that Expedia only placed a "hold" on the room and that I must pay him. I showed him my confirmation on my iPhone which clearly says "collected by Expedia" but he would not give my the room until I paid again. He even had the hotels printed copy of the transaction in front of him. Quite frankly, the guy was not very bright. I was tired and not in the mood to find another hotel so I paid him again with a credit card. The next morning the young lady at the front desk shook her head and rolled her eyes when I told her what he had done. She did not seem surprised by his behavior so in my opinion he should not be working the front desk. She credited back my money and apologized profusely. She is the only reason I am not rating the staff "terrible". He was not angry or rude with me but rather seemed confused and he would not relent on his position.

I got in Late at night, If your looking for old school german charm ; this ranks fairly high. The " toughguy Old school" night receptionist unfortunatelly isnt familiar with email and systems so he didn't look for my late reservation. He let me into a room anyway. The bar down the block was nice enough to make me a late night omelet but be careful --- THE HOTEL CLOSES AT 1am ! -- I came in 3 minutes late and the guy was nice enough to let me in. -- I'm sure at some point they'll change the curfew. Overall - They hotel is worth it !

VERY COMFORTABLE ROOM
This was our first time in Dusseldorf, hotel was well situated for tram links into the city centre and was not too far from the main line station so it proved an ideal location for us.

ok I will say
Nice manager, nice staffs, but the rooms needs new carpets....Goodness the brown carpet are tired and it looks dirty. Good internet connection and walking distance to Am Wehrhaln train station. The cleaners don't knock they just open your room, even with the "DO NOT DISTURB" sign on your door outside. Not a posh hotel, but good for a budget stay.

Okay - -if you like a budget hotel
On arrival we were greeted by a pleasant man at reception who was very friendly and helpful. Sadly the lift was full of rubbish bags and a mop and this was not removed whilst the 3 of us piled in with our bags. The hotel is basic and old fashioned (not what we usually book). It was clean but felt unwholesome for some reason. The bed was comforatable with a memory foam mattress and clean bedding. The sink in the bathroom was not cleaned properly and a little grimey. There was hairs on the floor around the bathroom and toilet area. Overall, if you are a budget traveller and need a comfy room (basic) then this will be fine.

While the hotel was in an excellent location for getting into the main areas of the city, for a small hotel the quality of the room was disappointing. The pictures on the website did not match the reality of the room we stayed in. It was very basic and quite old-fashioned.

The staff were friendly, but the room was ugly and cold at night (even with the heating up to full) the bedsheets were stained and the neighbourhood wasn't the greatest ('adult' shop across the street, massive construction going on in the middle of the road). The location's convenient because the S-Bahn's right nearby and the Altstadt is easily accessible on foot or by tram. The nightly rate was cheap, but I've had much better accommodation for the same price on my travels.

The hotel was clean, near the town centre and overall great value for money. The staff speak perfect English and were very friendly and helpful with directions. One of our party had a medical emergency during our stay and the night manager was a great help.

The room was big and clean and very close to the tram stop - the room rate included public transportation. Also sauna and swimming pool were nice extra. Only the view from the hotel room was not perfect, otherwise nothing to complain. Totally worth money!

Hotel a bit shabby but clean and the staff were friendly and helpful-near to city centre and restaraunts within walking distance. Wouldn't recommend rooms at the front of the hotel as the trams come past the window frequently and might wake any light sleepers.
