Good value for Ensenada

Posada El Rey Sol: We rented 2 rooms, one for ourselves and a larger to bless another family. 3-story charming hotel with Elevator (not noted in other reviews so I expected only stairs). Unique decor for each room. We slept comfortably in our queen bed. Lovely modern bath facilities wall dispensers for soap/shower gel, shampoo, conditioner. Nice hot showers and good towels. Hotel is just off the tourist street so not as noisy. Walking distance to everything! We liked that we could park the car in the parking lot (inside area of the hotel) and leave it. Parking can be a tight squeeze for big vehicles. Helpful Reviews had warned us of late arrivals not finding parking. Family liked trying the lovely unheated swimming pool, and the warmish hot tub. Enjoyed the nice upper terrace area for our picnic. FYI: although encouraged to drink only bottled water, the rooms provided one bottle per person per STAY, not day. Of course, it's nice that they did that much, (but for that room price?)... and water is sold all around. BREAKFAST: Coupons are given for Limited but Adequate Breakfast Options at the lovely El Rey Sol restaurant, but only for occupants of certain higher priced (4-person?) rooms, and I heard only 2-4 coupons. ASK about your room. DO eat in that restaurant, and note the History of the place! It's a lovely place, and I found it odd that they played bar music... SO, if they're playing other music, request kindly that they change to the more elegant older classic music of Mexico...after all, that's where you are! They love changing it for you, and love talking about those classic musicians, too! Great staff at hotel front desk and at the restaurant.

Great time at Encenada

The hotel is in a great location. Service was nice. The hotel had a problem with the water system was not able to flush toilet and no shower. It was fixed in about 1.30 hours. Overall nice experience.

Clean hotel

Pros: the location
Cons: the bed. The plumbing.
Location: great location
the room was clean. The king bed was broken down. The drain in the bathroom sink had a foul Oder. There was no dresser in the room for our 11 day stay. The staff was friendly. The location was right in downtown. No we would not stay here again.

Good hotel

Room was excellent and comfortable. I can't complain but there are two things they could of done better. When I called to make the reservation I asked them if they offered an extra service for a special occasion, they said yes we do, so I gave them my credit card and they sent me a confirmation. When we arrived I couldn't wait for my wife to see the room fill with roses, bottle of wine, chocolates, etc.. (It was our anniversary) but then nothing, no accommodations were made. I was mad, and went to the office to complain and they said they never saw the confirmation. Very disappointed, and the other thing was the jacuzzi was not even hot. Besides those two things, room was clean and good for the price

Pros: close the the harbor (two blocks)
we arrived at sunset the hotel was in total darkness, when I asked why there were no lights the person at the desk said the the time savings needed to be adjusted. when checking in the person did not tell us anything about the amenities of the hotel. did not ask if we needed directions. when entering my room noticed the the doors was not locked. Our package included breakfast and we never got the coupons. we did not know where the restaurant was located until we left the hotel and walked across. last, the 60 year old hotel was to old
