the receptionist was sullen when checking in. We booked 2 rooms, one of them had a coffee machine and one of them didn't. When we told the reception about this situation, some rooms have it and some don't. It means they don't have standards, but while they're advertising, the coffee machine appears to be in the room, so they're deceiving.

Good hotel for Essen shows
Large, comfortable hotel circa 25 min drive from Essen Exhibition Centre. Good restaurants within walking distance in evening.

Working in Westfield shopping centre
The staff were really helpful and spoke great English, room was a big size and clean and comfortable. Tram line right out side practically so good likes into the town ( or you can walk took 10mins) and Westfield shopping centre is the 4th stop!. Great breakfast and every one really helpful. Would stay again !.

Last minute booking - never again
I booked this hotel at the last minute. On arrival I was given the key to the last room they had. Despite booking and paying for a double non-smoking room, I was presented with a tired, small, single room that smelled strongly of stale cigarette smoke. The air conditioning didn't seem to work and the electrics in the room celling void made a continuous and loud buzzing sound. All in all, I probably had one of the worst night's sleep I can remember and left over 350 euros worse off.

Not what i expected for that price
Generally i have a good impression about NH hotels, but this one was a real disappointment. The checkin staff was not particularly friendly and it turned out they gave me wrong information: i asked about the opening times of they gym, they said 8 am to 9 pm. When i told this at check out together with all the other issues, the friendly lady at checkout told me that the gym was open 24/7... but i was leaving by then, so i choose this hotel because it had a gym, but i could not use it. The WiFi at the hotel was broken during my full stay, not compensation offered, even after asking (really for a hotel that claims to have the best conference facilities in town?). The parking needs to be paid every time you go in and out, and they don't accept a credit card, just cash (really ? it's 2022 now) - when i brought this up at checkout, the excuse was that it's not their parking, but at their website, they list they have a parking. The room was kind of OK but shows it's age (chips off on the furniture; stains on the carpet). It was a warm day, and in order to get a decent temperature in the room i needed to put the airco at full speed, which was very noisy. All in all, it was by far not worth the 135 €/night for such a disappointing stay, and above all, despite two hints where i expressed my dissatisfaction, at checkin and at checkout, no efforts made at all to accomodate, not even a sympatic "we're sorry".

Nice comfortable Hotel
The NH Oberhausen is a nice hotel with parking garage next door. The room I had was clean except for a very old and a little smelly shower curtain. One of the hand towels was frayed but clean. Nice toiletries and a very spacious room.

good value for money
The Hotel is well located, the staff was friendly and the rooms are well-sized and comfortable. It looks a bit dated, especially the bathrooms but is still well maintained and clean. Especially if compared to other Hotels in the area, this option is really value for money. I do stay frequently in this area and have tried several other hotels - this one I do recommend and have used multiple times now.

Excellent "hub" hotel for Oberhausen
We've been to the NH several times - it's a good hub for us as it's very close to the main train station (about 5 mins walk from trains and bus, and a tram outside the hotel to Centro as well). We have made a point of getting breakfast as our stays have been busy. Breakfast usually more than satisfying, with very slight variations in menu. Rooms comfortable, spacious. Most recent stay had our room made up for 1 by mistake but was quickly corrected. Decent internet speeds (when paid for premium).

Excellent hotel, I have stayed three times previously and it was always a very enjoyable stay but on this occasion I was charged for breakfast when I did not and when I followed up, I was advised that as I was on the attendance list for one morning, I am not entitled to a refund.

Overall the hotel was excellent. The room was nice, staff very pleasant and helpful. Good sound proofing and an excellent shower. However the single bed in my room had a mattress which was far to firm for me. I asked for a extra duvet to help cushion the impact but it never turned up. As a result I got very little sleep

Very modern hotel. Beautiful room and amazing service. For the price I paid for ($50/night), it was the best thing ever. It was so nice, felt like a Hyatt or Four points kind of 4 star hotel.

Our stay was fine, but the tv chose of channels was bad only German stations. On their program list it hah BBC, and CNN but they where not working.

Nice hotel close to the train station. There was a small technical glitch with our room... the door handle was broken so sometimes when we tried to enter the room, it came off completely, and as a result it was hard to open! They did fix this when we pointed this out. Also, the bathroom door is hung at a slight angle, so if it is not latched completely (which takes pretty much force!), it drifts to a totally open position. Never mentioned this!

nH hotels seem pretty good
Great reception. Well organised with iced drinks and nibbles to welcome you. Checkout even better, knew who we were and handed us bottled water for journey. We seemed to be the lucky guests with cakes in the room and free drinks in the bar. Comfy room and bed with plenty of space. Room a little hot and not sure sure air con did much. Handy for station and city. First time I have stayed in a nH hotel but experience positive enough I would seek them out in the future.

The hotel was in a quite part of town but was close to a number of very good restaurants. Some of the room décor could do with a freshen up but on the whole a favourable stay.

Reasonable business hotel, very poor wifi.
This is a nice hotel for business, probably above average for the location. Something of a dodgy location, probably dont want to go walking around the place at 11pm. I had "high speed" wifi, however this didn't work in the room, had to sit in the hall and even there it was mostly un-usable.
