Really good hotel, will use again
Picked this hotel as a modern hotel, but avoiding large costs. The hotel lived up to what I expected and more. Reception was very helpful and friendly. Room was spacious and clean. Bar and food area was bigger than expected. Only let down for me was the lack of evening food, only a selection of toasties. Would have been nice to have something more substantial, particularly on arrival.

Great location right on a canal and close to public transportation, tourist spots, and great dining options. Wonderful value for the price and felt extremely safe for a solo traveler. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful.

Motel One has been our first choice for many years since they first opened in Germany. This Hamburg location is one of the most beautiful we have enjoyed. Always great service, relaxing atmosphere and cozy rooms.

Great value, clean and modern, awesome bar.
As long as you understand what you’re getting, and you can live with a small bathroom with little counter space, this hotel is great, and a fantastic value as well. The rooms are rather small -- I think they’re all the same size -- but very modern and thoughtfully laid out. The hotel is run very efficiently, with a smartly quick check-in and out process. The bar is beautiful and fun. The location is a bit industrial right around the hotel but clean and safe and there’s plenty of nice neighborhood-ness within a few blocks. It’s also easy walking distance to the Christmas markets, if you happen to be visiting for that, and in any case it’s easy to get around Hamburg from the nearby transport connections.

Nice stay in middle of Hamburg
We ended up booking at the last minute and were thrilled this place was available. It seemed like a great price for the location right in Hamburg's city center; we walked pretty much everywhere, though there is public transit nearby (including from the airport). Our room was clean with a great shower; no complaints!

Staff were lovely as was the room itself. Bed was big and comfortable. Lack of amenities was very disappointing - no kettle, no phone, no trash can in the room. This hotel opened in 2020 and you can't connect your phone to the TV? We were stuck with 50 German channels and 3 English channels that were all news, unacceptable for 2021 and the price. We were pleased with the room and staff but the lacking details ultimately made our stay disappointing. We expected better.

Good Hotel
Its not the first time that weve stayed in a One Motel but the first time here. It's pretty well situated, although Hamburg isn't a massive city and easily walkable and has excellent transport. As you might expect from the street name, it's close to the river and a brisk 5 minute walk gets you onto the promenade with all the tourist and ferry boats. If I had any niggles it would be that, as it was my partner's birthday, I'd book a balcony room. This had a niceish view, but for the extra 25€ a night Id have expected a larger room too. In fact, the standard room that we had stayed in previously was larger. I think that the 21€ per night in the underground car park was also a bit steep! Staff were all extremely helpful and the bar area huge and relaxing. We didnt have breakfast so cant comment on that. We'd probably wouldn't mind staying again, although iI think we'd look more closely at room sizes versus price at other nearby hotels first. We can certainly recommend Motel One though.

Great customer service at reception, good location and great value breakfast. I booked a basic double for 4 nights and was alarmed at how small the room was. Nowhere to open a suitcase and leave it open. I asked the guy at reception if they had any larger rooms and after some consideration he moved me to one with much more space at no extra fee. Made my stay significantly more comfortable. The bar area is very cool and a nice place to hang out in the evening. The breakfast was very generous for the price, although you have to book a slot well in advance if you want a specific time. The hotel is within 5-10 min walking distance of the old warehouse district, the newer harbour front and all the boats, a metro stop or two and a couple of different places for a nice meal and drink. Highly recommended.

Sehr zentral gelegen, gute Parkmöglichkeit, alles sauber und ordentlich. Zimmer zu zweit sehr klein und sehr schmales Bett. Leider war morgens um 09.00h eine lange Schlange vor dem Frühstück, so dass wir das Frühstück stornieren mussten, weil wir es bis 10.00h nicht mehr geschafft hätten. Vielleicht sollte man die Frühstückszeiten bis 11.00h verlängern, um das Ganze ein wenig zu entzerren!?
