"We loved this house & would absolutely stay again! Our 6 year old daughter told everyone when we got home that we had our very own "Baby Waterfall" to swim in!! Ha! The property, the house, & the waterfall were all gorgeous & glorious. We saw a rainbow, hung out with geckos, petted the goats, relaxed on the porch, cooked dinners, explored Hilo & surrounding areas, & had a fantastic trip. We hope to be back someday."

"This is a beautiful, large house designed and constructed in the 1930s for a wealthy Hilo family. The main interiors are dark wood, with original custom bannisters and similar craftsmanship, and the furnishings are period-correct. The present owners have upgraded in various ways, including adding in-room air conditioning (we didn't need, but it was nice to have the option), retrofitted bathrooms, kitchen, wiring, and similar. "The hotel is very old and the owners are working hard to remodel it but it is taking a long time. The main restaurant is still closed, but the dining area around the bar is still lovely and the food good. It's at the quieter end of town and about a 30 minute stroll to the main part where most of the shops are but we still like to come here."
