The room & ensuite were comfortable, clean and spacious. The location and parking were very good. We had a lovely, tasty and reasonably priced evening meal and delicious desert in the bar, served by friendly staff with great customer service and a good atmosphere... then, a different member of staff came on duty who was rather rude and unhelpful, we waited 20 minutes after ordering a post-meal coffee only to be told the coffee machine wasn't working, we asked for a hot chocolate instead and waited a further 15 minutes only to be given a stone cold drink. We were looking forward to staying here but were very disappointed. Didn't even unpack! How not to treat guests. The first room that we were given was not up to standard, well my standards anyway. So the owner upgraded us to his best room. The room was a good size and everything seemed ok. Then we went into the bathroom . The toilet seat didn't fit and the toilet brush was filthy. We decided that we weren't staying. Asked to owner for 50% reduction as we weren't staying point blank refused. Taking it further with help from Citizen Advice. If this is the standard of the best room's bathroom. Room was very dated and very small, but clean and comfortable.
